In this third expansion to Wingspan, we welcome new species to our habitats by exploring the vibrant, intriguing, and magnificent birds of Asia. These birds were chosen from the over 2,800 species that live in Asia.
Wingspan Asia is several different things: A stand-alone game for 1 player or 2 players (Duet mode that can be used with any bird/bonus cards), a card expansion to the original Wingspan (any bird/bonus cards across any Wingspan game or expansion can be combined), and a 6-7 player expansion via the new Flock mode (for which the player components from the core game are necessary).

Wingspan is easily in my top five board games, in fact, I think it's tied up there in first place. I have had the base game for a couple of years when I saw this come out late last year. I promptly put it on my wish list and was very happy when my brother gifted me a copy for my birthday (I would have eventually bought it for myself). What makes this a really good expansion is that, unlike most game expansions, you don't actually need any of the base game to be able to play Wingspan: Asia, all the components you need are already in the box and ready to go.
This game is specifically designed to be a two player game, with the added yin/yang tokens which can be used to complete the various objectives and gain bonuses. As with pervious expansions, Asia focuses on the birds that live in Asian countries, so you get to see some beautiful birds that you may not have even heard of. To top things off, it gives you a new game mode (once added to the base game) which allows you to have six or seven players (instead of five), or you can simply add the bonus and bird cards to your original game to expand your cards even more!
I have already played this edition several times with a friend, I love the ease of this being a two player game and that I don't have to lug out the base game to use its components. This is a great addition to an already great game.

The Tiananmen, or Tian'anmen, literally means "The Gate of Heavenly Peace", is a famous monument in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China.
It is widely used as a national symbol. First built during the Ming Dynasty in 1420, Tian'anmen is often referred to as the front entrance to the Forbidden City. However, the Meridian Gate is the first entrance to the Forbidden City proper, while Tiananmen was the entrance to the Imperial City, within which the Forbidden City was located.
Tian'anmen is located along the northern edge of Tiananmen Square.
