Half-brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott trade between kinship and rivalry both on the basketball court and in the hearts of their friends in the small, but not so quiet town of Tree Hill, North Carolina.

By far my most favourite TV series of all time! What reminds me of the 90's version of Dawson's Creek, it deals with a lot of teenage problems in the early seasons (season 1-4) and then early adulthood in seasons 5-9.
The back bone of the entire length of the show is the storyline of two half brothers who always knew about each other but never liked each other until their love of basketball put them on the same team, and from there the show grew! The two brothers Lucas (the broody, honest and likeable brother) and Nathan (the 'jock' who is a spoilt rich kid) are supported by the other main characters from the start: Brooke (the feisty head cheerleader who loves to party), Peyton (the loner cheerleader but also Brooke's best friend and an excellent artist who uses her emotions in many of her art work) and Haley (Lucas' best friend who turns out to be a superb singer who eventually pursues it). Other characters who really bring this show to life are Deb and Dan (Nathan's parents), Karen (Lucas' mother), Mouth, Keith and Whitey.
The writer's have done a fantastic job throughout the 9 seasons, dealing with issues such as teen pregnancy, date rape, drug abuse and school shootings in the early school seasons, and then adult experiences such as depression, cheating, imprisonment and loss.
What really got me hooked on this show was the soundtrack to start with. One Tree Hill has introduced me to many new bands and singers, such as Fall Out Boy, 22-20s, Jack's Mannequin, Nada Surf, Gym Class Heroes, Bethany Joy Lenz and Kate Voegele to name just a few! One Tree Hill used many new and up and coming singers to feature on their shows, both using them as background music but also featuring them in the show itself.
This show scores a perfect 10/10 for me for all aspects of the show. I loved it so much I went out and bought all 9 seasons on DVD and watch them constantly!
