Monopoly Here & Now celebrates the 70th anniversary of the original, classic game.
When Charles B Darrow invented Monopoly in 1935, who would have thought that in the 21st century it would remain the world's most famous property game?
To celebrate this milestone, Parker Games have created an updated edition of the classic game. The Here & Now Limited Edition Monopoly shows how the board would look if it had been designed today. It features all-new landmarks and property spaces, bringing a modern theme to the classic game.

MONOPOLY: Always a family favorite.
I've been playing this game since I was knee-high to a dust mite, and I leapt at the opportunity to sample this.
This is a fantastic game, Realistic to today's prices, let alone the replacement of the old, clunky, London rail system, with ultra-high-tech, new age travel method of flight. Bye Bye Kings-Cross, Hello London Heathrow.
An awesome game for the family, who want a face lift, and an upgrade thru time (minus the DeLorean and Michael J Fox), from 1935 london to New Age London, talking on your mobile, and reading your copy of The Sun.
So trade in your TopHat and pick up your 747, and get playing, just try not to get sent to Jail, because going directly, and missing that £2Million still stings the wallet.
What a great game! This is a classic just taken to the next level and I have to say that it is so addictive that you would not want to stop playing it. Everything in the game is inflated, if played well it is a delicate balance between bankruptcy and making all the money that you could possibly want.
In short this game has put the adrenalin rush into monopoly and it is great fun for the whole family
I have either played or seen most of the variations of this classic boardgame, but in my eyes this is the best variation of it yet.
With a much needed price rise due to inflation, and the new properties it makes it fresh enough for it to feel like a new game to all those who have enjoyed the original as well as the many variations for the last 70 years.
And once again we can rejoice that Hasbro have once again in their wisdom produced the playing pieces as die cast metal, and they have brought them into the 21st Century as well with a Cell Phone and Formula 1 racer among the new playing pieces.
Whilst it had been many years since my last game of Monopoly, as soon as I sat down and rolled those dice the familiar thrill & pure feelings of financial megalomania overwhelmed me and once again I was a money mad property buying demon ( who once again lost, gotta get my strategy sorted out a little bit better )
So a big to Hasbro for this wonderfully fun and updated version of an endearing classic board game.
"70 years, has it really been that long... why I remember playing Monopoly when I was just a nipper, and my dear old Mum would bring me milk and cookies and I could stay up until 8:00pm, now that was quality Family Time that was my lad..." ... and I would have to agree. This game has been a mainstay of family games nights for longer than most of us have been alive... that's the very definition of A True Timeless Classic.
Even though the game has had a facelift, and bit of a change of dress sense, and a much-needed pay rise, this is still the game we have all known and loved for at least a signficant part of our lives. Gone is the rail system, it's faster when you fly. Gone is our power and water, but we can now read the paper or ring a friend. Inflation has kept pace, and now a cheap property is 600k pounds, and Wembly Stadium is a steal at a cool Mill. Houses are out, High-rise Apartments are in, but Hotels still lord it over them all.
Overall, this is still hours of fun, with speed and target wealth mini-rules included, this is a wonderful upgrade for Monopoly's core version. This is not by any means the first alter-ego this modern classic has adopted, and I daresay it will live plenty long enough to enjoy more twists and tweaks, but if you -gasp- haven't got Monopoly in the games cupboard yet, or your current one is looking seriously in need of massive hip-replacement surgery... this is the one you should get, now is the right time.
