My little Master Seven is obsessed with pranks and tricks at the moment so when I saw this up for review I knew it would be perfect! His excitement upon seeing Prankster Magic arrive only further confirmed this! The fake gum on the cover page had him hypnotized while he discussed all the fun things he could do with it to trick his Nan who has a loathe of Gum! So of course this was the first prank to be used from the book placing the 'chewed gum' on the side of his Nan's mug and he received a fantastic reaction which only inflated his interests.

The book is well set out and the instructions are easy to read. Illustrations are fun, bright and show you what you need to do in order to pull of the prank. Eli's favourite things are the gum and the grocery make over prank which includes stickers that are in the book to place on groceries. Some include such things as '98% Hair Free' and 'Bean with Bug soup'. The reaction he receives is well worth it for him and he is loving trying out everything from the book!

Perfect for every little trickster!

Mr 5 is very much into tricks and jokes. He is still very basic with his knowledge. This book really appealed to his sense of fun and trickery.

Straight away, he got caught up on the fake chewing gum which comes in a plastic case at the front of the book. I did have to explain to him what it was and why it would be funny to place it in unusual places. Both my husband and I had to help him by placing it in weird places like on the laptop, on the dinner plate etc. Once he got the idea, we found it appearing in weird and whacky places and we had to make sure we gave him the reaction that he expected each time.

The illustrations are fun and exciting and explain to children what to do. In fact, a lot of the tricks can be done by 'reading' the pictures. This is fantastic for young readers, as the pictures support them through the book even if their reading ability isn't developed enough yet. The text is quite small, but again, the illustrations are there for younger users.

Both Mr 5 and I spent ages working on the coin tricks. He takes every opportunity to practise his skills now. He involves and friends or family who come through the door to test out his new tricks and skills.

The binding of the book allows children to turn pages easily and for pages to remain open while they are learning a new trick. The pages are rigid enough to be long-lasting and not easily damaged. The book is divided into three sections, Coin Tricks, Card Tricks and Other Forms of Fakery. This means that children can go to the section they are interest in easily. The book comes with the fake chewing gum and some stickers to make over grocery items and ID cards. The rest of the items required to do the tricks are easily found around the home - coins, cards, forks etc.

I do think that the price is a little on the high side. The other Klutz books that I have reviews have included lots of equipment to allow the user to do the activities provided in the book. Most of those books were around $30 but the value in the craft items, lego etc was well over $10, in my opinion anyway. This book only has the fake gum, stickers and ID cards and as a result, I would expect to pay a few dollars less than the $20 price tag. Not a big deal but something I thought worthy of noting. This would not be a serious reason to decide against purchasing it as it is a fun book.

I can't wait until the next holidays when my 10 year old nephew comes to visit. I know that he and Mr 5 will have a ball going through all of the tricks together. I can hear the giggles now!

I think that this book would appeal to a wide range of ages (as with all Klutz books). Mr 5 loved it and I think that kids into their teens would have fun as well.

But the truth is more terrifying than he could ever have imagined. Kaine is in fact a Tangent, a computer program that has come alive. And Kaine's master ... more...
