This is my favourite book I've had so far! I really love the hard covered books! First of all the cover is eye catching and adorable! Mr three thought swimming polar bears is the funniest thing in the world! Every illustration was just as entertaining for him!
Each page is a sentence long which is perfect for the little ones with short attention spans! It also leaves room for discussion and the little ones to use their imagination! I love that in a kids book! TeAriki (3) used each trait pointed out in the story to bring up times where I (his Mum) had been tough or shouted out in a crowd. It was lots of fun although I struggled to think of a time I had ever been graceful!!
Each page offers a new animal family, my son enjoyed this pointing out all the different animals, the sound they make and talking about the silly things they were doing in the book! Hippopatamus's do not go the movies! He really enjoyed the humour in the book, the pictures and the short nature of it! It left more room for him to talk.
Reccommend this to anyone is a well illustrated book that will put a smile on your dial!
This is a beautifully bound hardback colour illustrated book. We were instantly attracted to the cover which is pink with a mother polar bear and her babies dressed up on it. My little one found that quite funny. We love books by Nick Bland so this was definitely a book we were excited to read.
Every page has a double page illustration of different animals such as penguins, goats, giraffes etc slightly humanified and dressed up with beautiful illustrations in different situations.
I loved the story which rhymes but also demonstrates in a very simple easy to understand way to children that we are all different and have different strengths and that no one is the same. The book has a lot of humour both in the text and in the illustrations and my girls found it very amusing especially pages that they could identify with.
This book gave us a lot to talk about and kept them very amused. My Four year old has spent a lot of time just leafing through the book looking at the pictures. This is definitely a book that she likes reading to herself. I thought this book was great springboard from which to discuss how different we all are and that all mums give their children different experiences depending on what they like to do.
A book that is absolutely perfect for Mothers Day or just for a gift to mum from her children.

As she unpacks in her new bedroom, Ella is irresistibly drawn to the big old house that she can see out of her window. Surrounded by overgrown gardens, barbed wire fences, and "keep out" signs, it looks derelict.
But that night, a light goes on in one of the windows. And the next day she sees a girl in the grounds. Ella is hooked. The house has a story to tell. She is sure of it.
