I really enjoyed this book a lot more than the first one. The chapters are short enough to keep you interested and there is enough action to keep the most adventurous child happy. The characters are well written with words that are easy to read and understand. There is not a lot of pictures so will not suit really young children but they will learn from having it read to them and it could be a start of a reading adventure. I managed to read this book in a few hours with a really bad headache so it will not be too much for kids to follow.
My 6 year old is asking to be able to read this book and since he is reading above his age I know he would manage it really easily but it might be better suited to a slightly older child. I will be reading these books to the kids during the holidays, I just read it now to be able to review and I know more or less what would interest my kids.
I notice there are a few of the books available and I am hoping to be able to collect the other books as this series would be well loved and read by my little monsters.
