I was ever so excited to get to review these Tasti oaty bakes. So many exciting things I wanted to create with them lol - fudge lice, banoffie pie, as a crumble topping. After much personal debate, I decided on cheesecake and truffles. Afterall I had two different flavours to try ***eeekkk***

When these arrived, two of my brothers from Christchurch were here, and it was also the birthday of my nephew. My youngest brother had not done a birthday party on his own before, so needed some hell. Hence the cheesecake. Best decision ever. We used a mix of these Tasti Almond, poppyseed, and lemon oaty bakes and the original oaty bakes as the base. We didn't use the entire lot in each box, which was a good thing because my brothers kept snaffling them. The cheesecake topping was plain cheesecake with a hint of Apple, strawberry and lime cider. I was a bit worried that the vast number of flavours might cause it to be a fail.

Oaty bakes are perfect for cheesecake bases. Not too dry or crumbly, giving the base a really nice texture and packed full of flavour which was nice for a change. And everyone loved the crunchiness of the poppyseeds mixed in. It went really well with the actual cheesecake topping and I will continue to use them for all my cheesecake bases from now on too.

I really like these. I like all the flavours combined. I love that they aren't dry or bland. I love their size and the price too. I really love that all 3 of my kids requested them in their lunchboxes. I have VERY picky children. :)

I work odd hours and end up having lunch at 10am everyday so by afternoon I'm always looking for something to snack on. I usually keep a supply of muesli bars at work to nibble on when I get hungry. I have seen the Tasti Oaty Bakes in the supermarkets but I have been waiting for them to come on special. The $4.49 for a box of 6 put me off buying them sooner. As I'm really fussy with bars I didn't want to spend that in case I didn't like them.

I'm now kicking myself I didn't try them sooner as it's safe to say I have a new favourite snack and I'm in love! I have already brought another box of the Almond, poppyseed and lemon bars as well as one of the triple chocolate ones to try. The first thing I noticed when opening the bar was the wonderful lemon smell that hit me! Made me want to tuck in straight away I love anything lemon flavoured. Tucking in and tasting it I wasn't disappointed, you could easily pick out all the flavours and none of them overpowered the other they all just seemed to work together perfectly,

I recommend giving the Tasti Oaty bake bars a try to anyone who's looking for that mid afternoon pick me up. You won't regret it!

I am a real snacker and love muesli bars and snack bars. However, I am really fussy. I love lemon but I am not 100% on almonds or nuts especially if they are crunchy or whole nuts in products. I was really excited about trying these as this was going to push me out of my normal snack comfort zone.

I opened the packet and as soon as I did I was hit by an amazing lemon aroma. I love lemon so this made me want to start eating it straight away. I took my first bite and was ready to cringe in case I bit into a whole almond, but I was pleasantly surprised. I could have eaten the entire bar right then and there.

The lemon and poppy seed bar was moreish, the flavour was pleasant and not overpowering, the texture was smooth and soft. After eating the entire bar I was feeling quite satisfied that this was going to be my new afternoon sugar craving kick to fill my locker at work. Since trying this bar I have been back to the supermarket and grabbed a few more boxes.

No more muesli bars for me I have been converted to these new oaty bars. I cannot wait to try some more of the other flavours. Great work Tasti!

Tasti Oaty Bakes = little morsels of goodness that brighten my work day!! This bars are exactly what the packaging suggests and describes. A fact alone that I love. There really is nothing worse than false labelling! Individually packaged, like most muesli bars - these are somewhat a cross between a bar and a biscuit I feel. Something that I definitely wanted to enjoy with a cuppa (like a biscuit) but had the convenience of a bar at the same time. I was a bit worried these might be a little dry and clog your mouth but I didn't find this at all.

I love that these have no added artificial colours or flavours - to me that speaks volumes of the "real" food that must be inside. Yes these are quite high in "fat" but then what isn't these days and to be honest I'm not the best at reading labels plus everyone deserves a treat anyway! Smile Icon My husband and I have both enjoyed these bars and I was surprised that my daughter (15months) was more than happy to tuck into one too! My husband loved the flavour of these and would buy them again in a heartbeat. I enjoyed them, and while I would buy them again and eat them I also feel like they would be more suited to baking say a cheesecake or something like that with. I can't really put my finger on why I feel that way but just that I do.

Poppy seeds and almonds are evident as you eat the bar, and of course the lemon taste - none of which tastes yuck or fake in any way which I really appreciated. I was also surprised that these flavours worked so well together as it isn't something I would have thought to mix together myself. I really liked the way these were in a square, and had the little drizzle over the top. It adds a level of sophistication - several of my work mates went oooo what are you eating when I had one out of the packet. All in all a very yummy treat and one I would recommend to others as well as buy for our own household again.

Before trying this version of the Tasti bars, I had already tried the Original recipe. I enjoyed tasting that one and I was looking forward to trying the Poppy, Lemon and Almond version. Just like the Original one, I like the fact that there were no artificial flavours or colours. I also liked the fact that the bars were individually wrapped and labelled. There was nearly a year from when I got the box to when the best before date was due. This allows people to relax and not have to rush through eating the pack.

The bar was visually appealing and looked like a nice size for a treat. There was a definite taste of lemon to this bar (which one should expect considering it is listed as one of the main major flavours). I couldn't taste any nasty fake almond flavour. This was great. I love almonds but not at all keen on fake almond essence. I noted that there is 10% of almonds in the bars. I think that that is rather good. I also noted that the bars contain nearly 20% fat - this seemed quite high to me. They would fit into the 'treat' category in my house, so I guess we could live with that.

I cut one of the bars up to share amongst members of our family. I found that the bar was a bit crumbly when cut. The bar was nice and fibrous and gave the impression of there being some goodness in the contents of the bar. The icing on top looked nice and added to the overall appeal.

I offered a bar to my Dad to try and he loved it. He thought it was right up there amongst his favourite treats. They passed the 'Dad' test, so they must be ok.

I want to say that these bars are brilliant. They are by far my favourite of the range. The price is excellent and the different times I eat these proves they are perfect for all situations. I also want to comment on the packaging. It is really nicely done. It feels like a good quality box of individually wrapped bars. The visual appeal is right up there.

When it comes to taste these bars are second to none. They have a light drizzle of white choc on the top that is just perfect for the texture of the bar. I could really taste the lemon and poppyseed flavours coming through. It was such a strong citrus taste I loved it. I really like strong flavours, too many foods are weak and dumbed down these days but these Oaty Bakes definitely are not.

I also really liked the almond pieces in the bar and overall this bar did not last long. I had bought both flavours the Triple Choc and this one and the Triple Choc flavour was still a partly full box long after all of this flavour bar had been eaten. My partner also really liked this bar and we have now added it to our weekly shopping list. Definitely recommend!

This product is a bit more along the lines of the baked goods that I usually eat, but despite my dad's love of this flavour, I found it the least appealing out of the two flavours I tried. First off, I don't know what it is, but the poppy seeds in the bakes just didn't feel right when I bit down on the bake. Flavour-wise, the lemon flavour was way too strong, it added quite a bit of tartness that just didn't work with the other flavours in the mix. However, while the flavour just didn't seem right, it was NOT too bad for me to want to eat them, I just want to make that clear.

Unlike the triple choc variety of these bakes, this variety felt a bit more nutritional, and no wonder, seed and nuts contain plenty of substances that are vital to the body's health, not to mention the vitamin C in the lemons are also healthy, so while the taste of this variety was worse than the other type, the nutritional value of this one is much better from what I could detect. I loved the zig-zagged drizzle of sauce on top of the bakes, which I am guessing is the source of the lemon substances, as it gives quite a bit of visual appeal.

The price is good, it is neither a rip-off nor is it under-priced, so it gets a full 10/10 from me on that aspect. I think that the quantity was a bit below what I expected, a few more bars would have been nice, as the ones which were in here were gone before I realized it. Overall, I would have to say that this product was good, just not as good as other such products in other areas. So, I hope you enjoy these, I think they are an affordable little snack to have in lunchboxes or to have on road trips, just as suggestions though Smile Icon.
