A beautifully simplistic noncomplicated romance. Utterly predictable but the journey is still enjoyable. It actually reminds me of so many movies and they have just taken various plots along the way and combined them.

I would not call it a comedy by any means more a romantic drama. Black sheep of the family needs money from his wealthy parents, pretends to have a girlfriend, finds one last minute and it all blows up in his face. She happens to be an escaped Mental Patient who has lived a very sheltered life and has not stepped out of her mothers house so every experience is brand new.

The acting was really well done, I didn't get bored at all and the movie held my attention the whole time. I have had this movie sitting in my collection for a couple of months now and always over looked it as did not seem like it was going to be fast paced at all. My husband was out for the night so wanted a nice no brainer and this was perfect. Its beautifully told and I liked all of the characters. Actually I am surprised with how good it is even though not a lot really happens.

Perfect if you are wanting something at a leisurely pace, where not a lot happens. I think men could actually enjoy it as well as not mushy at all.

Barefoot was a wonderful movie that my husband and I both enjoyed on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The type of movie that doesn't need you concentrating hard to be able to follow, understand and enjoy - simply perfect in my eyes. Many would probably argue its a "chick flick" but my husband enjoyed it no problems. We both had quite a few laughs - definitely not a "I've laughed so hard my belly hurts" movie but funny none the less and the movie is so beautiful in other ways that it all balances out just right.

Barefoot had many aspects that took us by surprise in terms of the story line... Jay (Scott Speedman) certainly has some colourful history and you clearly get to see why he is the "black sheep" of the family. While daisy (Evan Rachel Wood) is a possible schizophrenic patient who thinks she killed her mother and is on the run. Yet somehow, these two characters not only end up together but everything sorts itself out perfectly and the love story beats all. There is of course lots of drama along the way - family fall outs, theft and corruption, a race/run across the country and another visit to the mental hospital. When I write it like that it seems all to much and a little confusing but rest assured you really do just need to watch it to understand - I've no doubt at all that you will enjoy this movie!

Some great acting and wonderful sets, scenes and lighting. Scott Speedman does a great job of portraying the black sheep child and when he returns home with daisy as his "girlfriend" you get an insight into his history. This really makes you understand him and his feelings or where he is at and contributes to the overall movie. In the same way Evan Rachel Wood does a fantastic job of being a simple girl from a sheltered life - she really does know about nothing about the real world - at least that's what your made to feel. Her acting sucks you in and you are left laughing at how simple she is.

Daisy hates to wear shoes and we figure this is where the name of the movie comes from as there's several references to her having no shoes and therefore "barefoot" throughout the film. Still, a bit of a random name for a movie, but I guess overall it does fit in once you have seen the movie. Totally recommend this to others, I know I will be happily watching again Smile Icon
