This is an album with a lot of beauty and spirit to it. the etherial nature of many of the tracks may leave you confused as to what it is trying to say, since there isn't a movie to explain it and it is, after all, supposed to be supplying the 'atmosphere' for a movie, but even if you have never seen the movie, you can still close your eyes, sit back and enjoy a wonderful musical journey.
The track that really captured me the most had to be 'The Peonyhouse' - of all the tracks that pop up on my mp3 player as I pass the day away, this one always perks up my ears and makes me pay attention. I can't explain why, words just don't cover this kind of music. It is music heard through the ears, but also the skin, the bones, the heart and the soul.
If you only buy one non-vocalist CD this year, this is the one you should be buying. There is a lot of great music in here, but it is a bit scattered, so not every track will grab you the same way. Be aware there is variety and that you might not love every track, but you'll enjoy most of them if you like any of them.
