Dirty Dancing is a movie from my childhood that I have loved since the moment I first seen it. The story, the dancing and the music I love it all! Like most who have seen it I would of loved to been able to dance half as well as they could!

While it's a typical boy meets girl coming of age story it's a classic which I think will never die. When Baby arrives at a family summer camp and she meets dancer Johnny her life will change for ever. She learns there is a whole other world out there beyond her perfect little family. As their relationship grows they have many obstacles to overcome, after all how will Baby's family ever accept Johnny into their life.

Patrick Swayze and Jenifer Grey were perfect for the roles they were in and I don't think anyone else would of been right in the role. The chemistry they showed on screen was amazing. I don't think I have enjoyed either of them in a movie as much as I did Dirty Dancing.

When the 25th anniversary of the movie was celebrated with a short stint back at the theatres I was lucky enough to head a long seeing it on the big screen was even more amazing then viewing it on DVD.

Dirty Dancing, another one of my favourite movies from growing up, and another of my bargain buy DVDs from The Warehouse. Dirty Dancing stars a very young Patrick Swayze and an equally as young Jennifer Grey. It is one of those girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, parents do not approve movies. Baby (Jennifer Grey) meets Johnny (Patrick Swayze) during her familys summer camp stay.

Johnny teaches dance at the summer camp but has a wild reputation. Baby is the innocent young daughter of a doctor. She becomes infatuated with Johnny and when Johnnys dance partner becomes ill (from a cheap botched abortion) Baby becomes Johnnys new dance partner. She sneaks around with him but eventually her father finds out and forbids Baby from seeing Johnny again.

The story really is your typical boy meets girl story line, and pretty much progresses as would be expected with this kind of movie. But all cliches aside it is still a fantastic old classic that if I could I would watch over and over again. My favourite part of the movie is the end, when Baby does dance with Johnny and her father realises he is not this terrible person afterall. Every time the final scene plays I want to get up a dance haha Unfortunately for me I am not a dancer so instead I just sit and sing along to it lol

I am a huge Patrick Swayze fan and have seen this movie numerous times and loved it every time. I know most the music and can sing along to the songs and even know a lot of the scenes. I have this on DVD and when I'm in a good music and dancing mood I put it on and crank up the volume.

I enjoy dancing but would never be on the same stage as the dancers in the movie but a girl can always dream. As a young teen (first time I watched it) I really loved the romance of the movie, a young girl goes on holiday and meets the man of her dreams but murphy's law... they come from totally different backgrounds and under normal circumstances nothing would have happened, everyone would have gone their own way but that wouldn't have made for a good movie. A big part of the initial appeal was Patrick Swayze, he looked great for his age and he could move.

I really enjoyed the music, I was born in the early 70 so just missed the great music of the 60. My mum would listen to the music quite often so it was familiar to me, there are some songs that I listen to and automatically can picture the scene in the movie that the song was used in.

Unlike a lot of movies today, Dirty Dancing doesn't rely on a lot of sex to sell the movie, there isn't a lot of bad language (nothing turns me off a movie faster than using swearing to make a point) and there is a good story.

I would watch this again daily and not ever get tired of it.
