1 Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE standard 802.11ac (draft) specifications which are subject to change. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. Environmental factors will adversely affect wireless signal range.

For better or for worse, we now live in the WiFi age, when connected devices are becoming more and more prevalent. As such, one of the most frustrating things these days are WiFi Deadspots - those annoying little spots in the house or office where the WiFi signal is too low to get a decent or stable connection. But what to do? Knock out a few non-structural walls? Run a web of Ethernet cables everywhere, totally eliminating the main benefit of WiFi? Nope! Slap a few of these around the house is what you do...
Able to operate in three modes, this little black beauty is the ultimate solution. The most vital mode this can work in is "Repeater Mode" - where this unit acts as a signal booster station for your existing WiFi network. Locate this on the edge of your current coverage zone, and it will not only extend your coverage further outwards, but also provide a stronger signal in about a third of your current zone.
In "Media Bridge Mode" this unit can patch into your current WiFi zone and allow you to connect a non-WiFi capable device via hardline. This is a great way to connect machines in different rooms without having to drill holes in walls or floors and run cables.
In "Access Point Mode", this device connects directly into your hardwired network. No network? Plug it into your router and now you have something your WiFi devices can connect to. Of course, this is only of use if you don't currently have a WiFi modem/router.
With it's built-in USB port and the SharePort app that's freely downloadable from the D-Link website, yoiu can turn your USB-connected printer into one that can be accessed from any wireless device. All those cute snaps you took with Instagram, the holiday snaps you shot with your fancy new WiFi-enabled digital camera, that artwork you drew on your tablet... all of it can now be shunted out to hardcopy.
Don't want to print? Not a problem! Plug in an external hard drive instead, and now all of your wireless devices have access to common storage in your own private little digital cloud. With the Dual-Band functionality and the 5GHz bandwidth enabled, you have more than enough pipe to stream HD between devices - no more lag on movies!
Overall, this device can be the best investment you could make. There is one PC on our network that has been struggling to maintain a solid connection due to interference from aluminium wall supports - that annoying new construction fad that's going to play hob with the ever growing wireless datasphere - and it was sitting on a signal strength of -94db - that's the digital equivalent of trying to hear a single voice in the crowd at a Metallica concert. With this device positioned at the outer edge of our WiFi zone, configured in moments by a simple press of the WPS button, the PC registered the network at a very powerful -18db - more than strong enough to run a full-speed LAN connection to our local cloud server. Need I say more?
