The Co-operative Bank is the only bank in New Zealand to share its profits with its customers.
We're truly different from other banks - because we're owned by our customers and we were built on the idea of giving back. In fact, we've been giving back to New Zealanders since 1928.
Because we're a co-operative our main purpose is to create prosperity for our customers, not to create profit for anyone else.
We have 34 branches throughout the country and around 128,000 customers from all over New Zealand.

I recently started selling Avon and wanted a separate bank account so that the customers can pay for their purchases and it is not sitting in my main bank. I went to my local branch and the opening process was really easy, I asked for a savings account with no overdraft or credit available.
I like the internet banking as it is easy to use and navigate and that when I had questions I was able to call and get it answered easily. I have looked for a mobile banking app but there isn't one so I have to go the long way around to do my banking while out and about. The staff at my local branch have called to check that I'm happy and can they help in anyway which is great as no other bank I have ever banked with has gone out of the way to see if I'm happy with the services.
I have an ATM card but haven't had to use if often, I do check my balance sometimes, the card doesn't have my name on it which means I didn't have to wait for it to arrive in the mail.
I see that there are other services available, on the website they have hints on ways to avoid fees. I like that they are all about helping the customers instead of just wanting to make money out of the customers.
