Hours is an American 2013 disaster drama/thriller film starring Genesis Rodriguez, Paul Walker and Nick Gomez.

Set in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Walker plays a new father whose child is stranded in a New Orleans hospital after Katrina hits, leaving him desperate to preserve the child's life.

Before sunrise on August 29, 2005, Nolan (PAUL WALKER) arrives at a New Orleans hospital with his pregnant wife, who has gone into early labour. What should be one of the happiest days of Nolan's life quickly spirals out of control when the birth goes tragically wrong when Hurricane Katrina ravages the hospital, forcing Nolan to fight for his newborn's life.

In one of Paul Walkers final movies he takes on the role of an expecting father, Nolan. His wife goes into labour on the morning of August 29th 2005 just as Hurricane Katrina begins to hit New Orleans. As things take a tragic turn for the worse both with the birth of his daughter and the hurricane, Nolan is forced to fight for his daughters life.

I had heard mixed reviews about this movie but as the story sounded like my type of movie I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad that I did because I ended up really enjoying the story. Even my husband who is normally more of an action or horror type of guy really enjoyed it.

A lot of the movie just features Nolan (Paul Walker) so I was really worried that it would be a bit on the boring side as in the past I have not liked any movies which focus on just one person. However in Hours I found I really connected to Nolan and soon lost myself completely in his story of survival and the survival of his daughter. Woven throughout the story of his daughters birth, the hurricane and the days that follow is a glimpse into Nolan's past. I found this really helped you connect to the character.

I recommend the movie to anyone who enjoys a good drama. Paul Walker does a wonderful job of drawing you in and connecting you to the character he plays. It is certainly a movie I could watch again.
