My Big Fat Greek Wedding product reviews

Love is here to stay... so is her family.

For the few who haven't seen it, Toula Portokalos is 30, Greek, and works in her family's restaurant, Dancing Zorba's, in Chicago. All her father Gus wants is for her to get married to a nice Greek boy. But Toula is looking for more in life. She meets Ian Miller, a high school English teacher and dreamboat. They date secretly for a while before her family finds out. Her father is livid over her dating a non-Greek. He has to learn to accept Ian; Ian has to learn to accept Toula's huge family, and Toula has to learn to accept herself.

Girl meets boy, boy falls for girl, boy must deal with girls loud and crazy family.

Toula is meek and mild mannered, and her parents lament that she has yet to meet and marry a real greek man. When working one day Toula meets Ian and they begin to date, but in secret since he is a non-greek. As their love grows, so does Toula as she comes to find more and more that she likes, but the next big step is Ian winning over her entire family... Can they do it? With a little windex they just might.

I really enjoyed this movie, from the loud and crazy Portokalos family to Toula on her own trying to work out what is important to her and how she can juggle her family and Ian, getting them all to accept and care for each other. There are some good laughs here, mainly when dealing with the onslaught of the entire Potokalos family, or when Ian's parents are involved. The romance side is very sweet with Toula and Ian and their working out how to be together whilst keeping everyone happy.

This is a really good movie, not just as a romance but about figuring out who you are and what matters to you most.
