I first saw this in High School, and it ended up driving me crazy. Why? you may ask... because it was for English and we ended up watching it at least five times, with several parts replayed over and over again. And then we did it again the next year and then again two years later. But despite growing tired of it whilst at High School it was still a very good movie.

Jess is a young Indian woman who longs to be a football player and idolizes David Beckham. She loves to play but her parents, especially her mother, don't want her to as well as for the fact that they don't want anyone to see the scar on her leg. Jules is a young white woman who's mother fears that she is a lesbian due to her love of football. Problems arise as both fall for the same man (their coach) and Jess's parents find out what she is up to.

At the core of this movie is the friendship between Jules and Jess, but there is so much more going on, like the expectation placed upon Jess. This is a well written movie that has a few good laughs, some drama and romance and quite simply tells a really good story. Even though I am not a sports person and have no interest in the stuff, I still enjoyed this movie.

If your into sports, and even if you aren't, this is a well written and acted film.
