Lotus Lane 4: Mika - My New Life product reviews

The Lotus Lane Club is the most fun club ever!

This series is part of Scholastics early chapter book line Branches. Aimed at 5-7 year olds, this line of books is for children who are just starting to read independently. With easy to read text, high interest contest, fast paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

Book 4: Mika
In this fourth book in the series, Kiki, Coco, and Lulu officially invite Mika to join the Lotus Lane Girls Club. The girls plan a surprise pyjama party to welcome Mika to the club. Afterwards though, Mika struggles to find time for all the LLGC activities. Katy Krupski stirs up trouble (as usual), and a new girl moves to Lotus Lane.

This book is written as Mika's diary, with fun illustrations and doodles throughout.

Lotus Lane Girls Club (LLGC) is a series of books written in diary and story form. They are chapter books and perfect for young readers who wish to move on from picture books to something more challenging but not to challenging, they can't read alone. Miss newly 7 has been reading the LLGC books since she was 6.5yrs old. She loves them.

Mika is new to Lotus Lane, and although there were some ups and downs with Coco, KiKi and Lulu (The original LLGC girls), she is eventually invited to join the LLGC. The girls have planned activities they get together and do at each others homes on certain days of the week and are supportive and good friends. My daughter loves the concept of LLGC, so it was of no surprise when she asked for a diary.

It was also of no surprise when her diary was set out and written just like the LLGC series; illusteations, definitions, explanations of her friends and how she met them...I have a budding story writter in the making :) However, I was surprised when she came home and announced her own club last week. Not because she had made a club lol But that in one day she had 7 people in her club, boys included. It was called the FSKC (Fernworth School Kids Club), and right there on a piece of paper she had charted the weeks activities: whose house, what time, what they were doing and where :) i.e Thursday, 4pm, Maias house, musical chairs, front yard, bring music and snacks lol ;) So impressed with by baby lol

Club aside, I also loved walking outside and finding her sitting on the trampoline reading her book outloud to her friend who was visiting :) she really does love them. And I am hoping that the addition of a new girl moving to Lotus Lane, in this book, means there are more books to come :)
