One of the neat surprises about this is that I didn't have any issues at all playing DVD's from any region at all, depite it saying it would only play DVD's from two regions.

The picture quality is good and the sound is also good. The sound quality is good and when compared to another cheap DVD player I haven't had to turn the volume up quite as high just to hear the actors talking in at an everyday volume, a big plus at it means no sudden blasts of sound when changing to TV.

What I didn't like about it though is that there is a couple of seconds delay in acting upon remote control commands and it really doesn't last up to being used often and so even though it was only $70 I would have expected it to last quite a bit longer than the six months that it did,

As a back-up player or one just to be used every now and again, sure, this is a good choice, but for near daily use... nope.

Overall: Average
When I read the box, and saw the price, I just jumped at the chance to finally get a DVD player. Now i can listen to CDs, MP3 CDs, etc and even chuck a Cd filled with photos in the machine just to have it flick through.
I got what I paid for, thought it doesn't play PS2 games, like my previous DVD player, it did what it said it would.
Overall a good machine for playing DVDs, whichj is all i needed it to do, the sound was crackly, and it looks OK, what more could I ask for for about $70.
