Another nice and simple, yet colourful and enjoyable book for my five year old, three year old and two year old children. Who's that... Jumping? And Other Animal Actions is a board book that features six different animals, each one getting a double page.
This is a lovely and simple book yet looks like so much fun. On one page you have a picture of the animal in motion. On the following page you have the animal named as well as two features of the animal ie. a frog has webbed feet and big, round eyes.
The book is wonderfully durable (so far) and has for now survived the rough handling that can come from my two year old (still learning that one must be gentle with books), my over excited three year old who gets carried away and may throw a book or two, and my generally calm five year old.
This has been a popular book so far and remained at the top of the book pile sine we got it to review. It's a lovely book and I would happily get the others in this series for my youngest for a gift.
This is an adorable little non fiction book for young children. My son has had a lot of fun reading this book this morning. It is perfect for his age group being a 1 year old as it has a simple story and is nice and short for little attention spans.
My son loves jumping and bouncing and pretty much all the actions in the book, he is such an active kid so as I read him the book this morning I was saying to him can you jump like the frog, can you hop like the rabbit? He thought this was great and would show me his jumping actions. Such a neat little book for encouraging a bit of movement.
Although it is a non fiction book it's not boring for little ones as I find some non-fiction books to be as they haven't used a whole lot of big words or huge descriptions. It is just a simple fact on each page like I am a rabbit, I have big ears. The pictures are really great quality photos and they each have a bullet box pointing to the highlighted part of the animals body like the rabbits ears. It is a great little way to introduce non fiction books early in my opinion my daughter has never been a fan of non fiction but books like these for littlies are great as they make non fiction more fun.
