We always have a bottle of dettol in our house as well as a tube of the antiseptic cream that dettol also has. With the catchy phrase 'kills 99% of germs' I think I may have been a bit sucked into buying these products, however this is a good thing it turns out and is certainly not a waste of money.
Dettol is a trusted brand which has been around for many years and I remember growing up that we always had both a bottle of the dettol liquid and a tube of the dettol antiseptic cream in our first aid kid which would come out each time me or my siblings had a graze from falling over or a yucky bite that was looking as though it may get infected. Now that I have a 3 year old myself I to always have a bottle of the dettol antiseptic liquid in my first aid cupboard. This has proven to be a bit of a lifesaver on more times than one and has worked wonders on healing any cuts and scrapes caused from falling or a cat attack. It also works great in the bath, just by simply adding a cap full or 2 to help cleanse and clean any itchy bites, or nasty looking infections that may be brewing.
As well as using the dettol antiseptic liquid as a first aid treatment I have also used it for cleaning hard surfaces and also toys, especially during times when I have known of bugs going around daycare, this seems to do a great job of killing the bugs and germs and also leaves your house smelling fresh with that strong dettol smell. It also works wonders when you add it to a load of laundry and helps to further kill any germs that may not die off from the use of just washing powder.
Though the price is quite steep for a product of this sort, it does do a great job and you can certainly smell the freshness of it, depending on what you use it for it can last a long time which makes it a worth while product to have on hand. I know there will always be a bottle of it in my house.
I have always remembered the smell of dettol as my mum would use it in our baths when we had hurt ourselves or putting it over a graze that had dirt etc in it and it needed cleaning, I remember crying with this and swore I would never use it on my kids. Well truth be told I use it, I love this stuff and of course I love the smell and always have just I understand it more and understand why its used.
I always have a big bottle in my house for all things, cleaning toilets, sinks, floors, kids, and putting in the washing machine with soiled and wet clothing, just helps kill those germs, normally a capfull goes in the machine no matter what is in the machine. When my children have hurt themselves I do what my mother did all those years ago clean it up with dettol and yes it stings a little for them I just tell them it has to hurt to get better, and then I put a capful into their shower bath.
I always have this in my house and I have a small bottle in the first aid kit for when we go away in the car, this is great for killing germs and its used to clean the kids toys etc as we all know dettol is actually safe aswell.
Dettol has to be the best germ killer on the market and we use it ALL and I mean ALL the time at work to disinfect everything...most people know that early childhood centres are the perfect ground for breeding germs....everything goes into babies mouths and children are playing with all the toys all day long....so when it comes to cleaning and disinfecting dettol is the only thing we use, because we know that when we clean toys, wipe shelves, even wash the dress-ups, face cloths etc in dettol we are killing 99% of the germs!
Plus I love the smell of dettol so when it comes to cleaning any surface at work I am the first one to pull out the spray bottle with the dettol in it. The smell of dettol also leaves the centre smelling fresh and clean, and the parents always comment they know the centre is free of germs when they walk in and smell the dettol has been used, they can rest assured their child is 'safe' while at the centre.
Dettol has always been around and now with the dettol handwash as an extra bonus killing germs has now become easier! The dettol liquid is the perfect thing to use on the children's scraps as well as it doesn't sting when it is used on broken skin and again is it great that is kills any germs that could be in the scraped knee or elbow and makes sure the area is clean enough to put a bandaid on it allow the 'boo boo' to heal faster.
I like how the dettol range comes in different sizes too so if you use a lot a big bottle can be purchased if it is only used a little then a smaller bottle can be purchased...it can be purchased in a liquid, in a handwash and as a cream! It has all the bases covered so you just can't go wrong! The price is expensive but since you only need a little bit of it, it does last a long time, unless you're like me and use heaps because I am totally in love with the smell!! But I know it works well and you can't beat it!
We are big users of dettol products in my household, possibly sucked in by the 'kills 99% of germs' theme. Anything that kills that amount of germs etc has got to be good. Dettol antiseptic liquid is great to have in the cupboard for a variety of uses and reasons.
It is great as an antiseptic on cuts and abrasions to keep them clean and germ free. It does not seem to sting my children when used on them which where kids are concerned is a blessing. I like to pop a cap full in their bath, especially when they have had a busy day in the garden, at the beach or river, or at the swimming pool. I like the peace of mind it brings. I also like to pop a cap full in with my kids uniforms when I wash them.
Dettol antiseptic liquid has the same smell to it as most/all other dettol products which adds to the familiarity of using something you know and trust. I do admit I find the price to be higher than I like and I often find myself frowning at having to pay it but I still purchase it when I have run out lol Like I said it is something that is known and trusted, and a 750ml bottle tends to last a reasonable amount of time too. :)
I love Dettol and we always have some at home in a variety of different formulas from the soaps, to the cleaning products to the original dettol solution. I like this antiseptic liquid for soaking my son's toys in. Sometimes with kids they put their toys in disgusting places or they suck on them when they are sick so they need to be hygienically cleaned. I fill a bucket with some hot water and a cap full of this liquid and leave them to soak for a while.
It is such an easy process and doesn't involve having to stand their wiping each toy down one by one so it is great when you are on the go. I also find it the best stuff for moping my floors with as you again only need a cap full to a bucket of hot water and the floors are then cleaned of germs. Especially good when you have had any viruses through the house to disinfect afterwards.
My partner often has to do some quite yucky jobs in his line of work so this is a great product for him. We have the dettol hand wash but when he has done jobs like un-blocking the septic tank pipe I think he needs something with a bit of power behind it so he will wash his hands with this as a concentrated solution.
The Liquid doesn't sting when you apply it to broken skin when you are cleaning a cut or graze so I am able to use it on the kids skin without them getting distressed which is always a bonus. You just put a small bit on a cotton wool ball and then dab it onto the graze to clean it up.
