Product reviews...
I absolutely love chewy mints, and since first trying the eclipse range of chewy mints they are the only ones I will buy! Within my family of 3 we all have our own favourite, I love the spearmint, while my partner loves the peppermint, and now Miss 3 has learnt about the world of mints she is a huge fan of the chewy fruit trio variety, which mind you I love myself almost as much as I do the spearmint. Mints are always something we have a packet of in my car,and as silly as it may seem I now keep all 3 flavours stocked in my car to keep the whole family happy!
The spearmint and peppermint varieties are packed full of freshness and have a lovely minty taste, not to strong and over bearing, but also not completely weak and sugar tasting, they always you with a feeling of fresh breath, and stop you having to worry about whether your breath may smell especially after eating something such as garlic, perfect to pop into your mouth if your going out to a meeting, or if you are just feeling a bit conscious about your breath.
The fruit trio is delicious and reminds me a lot of Kool Fruit lollies you used to be able to buy. These come in a tasty combo of 3 flavours orange, lemon and raspberry, all which are super tasty and bursting with juicy fruit flavours. They are also nice and brightly coloured so it's no wonder they appeal to Miss 3 so much, she is happy with any of the fruity flavours, where as I prefer the raspberry.
They come in a very neat metal canister which is easy to pop into your hand bag or car, due to it's compact size. The canister is easy to open simply pop back the lid and when your done click it closed again. These mints are worth buying, much better than hard mints or chewing gum in my opinion! Best of all they are roughly $1.99 to buy so a great price!
I am a huge fan of chewy mints that have flavour and not just colour. I noticed these at the supermarket one day and thought it was gum so was about to go past and then saw it said mints and I thought why not try some. I'm so glad I did, I wasn't sure which one I should try but peppermint is always good for blocked and aching sinus so that is one I usually try.
I loved the taste, I don't do the suck until soft thing, I'm far too impatient. I do chew almost as soon as it is in my mouth and love the strong taste. I should try the spearmint but no way am I interested in trying the fruit but that is personal choice.
The kids love playing with the tins putting rice in and using as a shaker, the three year old often does impromptu dances and looks so cute.
Would recommend to anyone who wants a great tasting mint in a tin that doesn't take up your whole handbag.
I have brought these mints a couple of times now and must say they are one out of two brands I will bother buying ~ so its fair to say I'm not a huge "mint lolly" fan ~ I'd rather have chewing gum. However its not appropriate to have chewing gum at my work place so that option is out the window and I must say that the peppermint chewy eclipse would have to be the best substitute. I also found these a lifesaver during my early stages of pregnancy when I constantly felt sick as well as constantly loosing at least half of every meal I ate.
My favourite flavour is the peppermint, but I have to say that I haven't bothered trying the other flavours as I don't like fruit mixed with mint and am not to sure whether I will like spearmint or not, so thats purely personal choice for me. One thing I love about these mints is the handy tin they come in - it stays promptly shut and secure in my hand bag which is amazing! The size and texture of the tin also means its easy as to find when your digging around without actually being able to see into your handbag (often this is when I am driving). In fact I would probably buy a lot more lollies/chewing gum etc on the market if they came in better containers like eclipse mints do! The other great thing about these mints is they are reasonably priced and are available everywhere (or so it seems). I'm glad I've tried these and will continue to buy them in the future, even if it is on the rare occasion.
At the supermarket today I saw that these chewy mints were on special for $1.50 a pack, so I grabbed a couple of tins to try out. I didn't grab the fruit flavour as I find those are usually pretty hit or miss. Plus I prefer a mint freshener compared to fruit ones.
The first one I tried was the spearmint. I liked the mild minty taste of the outer shell. It was a definite spearmint flavour. I was able to suck on the outside for quite some time before the shell came away. When I chewed into what was left, the middle was soft and chewy like nougat. It kinda reminded me of a cool mint, but it was smaller. Also once I chewed into it, the mint flavour intensified and it started to almost burn a bit.
My daughter had one and she enjoyed it a lot. She loves mint flavoured lollies and she was very keen to have some more. The next flavour we tried was the Peppermint. This one had a more intensely minty flavour on the outer shell, but when I bit into the middle the mint flavour stayed about the same level of strength. This one, my daughter couldn't finish the middle at all and spat it out. So I guess she enjoyed the spearmint ones the most.
I liked the presentation in the little tin. I suspect that once I'm finished with the tins, my daughter will want to use them to hold her little treasures. Things like her Littlest Pet Shop accessories and Teenies and Squinkies could easily be housed in the tin afterwards.
I LOVE THESE!!! They are so good I wish there were more in the tin!! I am a huge advocate of fresh breathe...and think I am totally addicted to mints of any kind but these chewy mints have to be my absolute favourite mints on today's market.
My favourite flavour is the spearmint, followed by the fruit trio and I am yet to try the peppermint flavour because I so enjoy the spearmint flavour that I buy that all the time. I eat these mints each and every day after I have a meal or snack and the chewy goodness leaves my mouth feeling refreshed every time.
I stock on up these mints while doing my weekly shop and have a stash of them in my car, just about in every room of my house and even at work. I have convinced so many friends, family members and co-workers to try these mints and they too love eating them....they are like a lolly but only better and the fresh breathe they leave you with is fabulous!!
Plus the tin containers the mints come in are perfect for the children I work with to reuse and make into musical shakers...the children go into the playground collect small stones etc. and half fill the empty mint tin and with a strip of tape to secure the top the children have made themselves a perfect noise maker/shaker.
The smaller tin container is also easier to carry in my bag or in my pocket, because it is less bulky when I am out walking or shopping etc. for the blast of fresh breathe. I will continue to buy these mints because they are just perfect in every way, taste, freshness and the smaller container! They get a 10/10 from me.
I love these too, they are such great mints!! We all have a different favourite flavour, my daughter loves the fruit ones and I love the spearmint, while hubby although he would eat any likes the peppermint ones himself.
I am a smoker so have always had mints or chewing gum in my handbag when I am out anywhere but these are so much nicer being chewy as they are like eating a lolly, but they still give you fresh breath. I like the spearmint as it is minty without the intensity of the peppermint.
The fruit ones are really nice too though as although they are fruit flavours they still have the minty aftertaste so they too freshen your breath. We generally buy the small packets and have one each but have also bought the larger packets to have in the car for road trips. I think they are great value for money as they last a while as long as you are not tempted to sit them all in one sitting like my girl does.
