Six apple and Blueberry flavoured wholegrain cereal bars, especially made for tiny tums. With no added flavours, preservatives, or colours. For children aged 1-3 years
Product reviews...
These wholegrain cereal bars for toddlers have been available on the market for quite some time, they now have a much funkier, appealing, eye catching package. An easy to open box with 6 individually wrapped little bars. it is great to be able to grab a couple of the bars from the box and keep them in mine or bubby's bag. Knowing they will stay fresh for a long while. My granddaughter is a little bit of a picky eater, and so it is great to know that these little bars pass her test for foods to eat. And you feel ok giving them to little people because they are preservative free, with no added flavours or colours.
I like to try the foods we are feeding my granddaughter, I do not think it is fair to expect her to consume things that are a bit icky, or foods we would not generally eat ourselves. I like to offer variety with plenty of fruit and veges. I tried a little bit of one of these multigrain bars, they are okay. Not screaming flavour like some of the other snack products available from Heinz, but they are not awful. Although possibly a little bland for an adult palate they seem to be the right flavour for a toddlers palate. She loves them.
When we go to the supermarket, she recognizes the boxes for both the multigrain bars and the shredz. And as soon as she sees them, she immediately grabs for the boxes, and then she starts with her 'ta', 'ta', 'ta', before we have even paid for them. So then we have to rush through our shopping to get things paid for before we have a little tiny human melt down haha However, this alone confirms that these products are loved by toddlers, and the packaging has been marketed in a manner that the little ones remember the package. Definite 10/10
This product is stil on the market but now features slightly different packaging to the photo above although I suspect the bar itself is still the same excellent quality its always been. I first used this product over 2years ago with my daughter and am now am starting to trial them with my son too. I really like this product and totally recommend it to other parents (being an early childhood teacher I often recommend baby food products verbally too and this is definately one of those)!
Marketed as being perfect for 1-3year olds, these cereal bars are the only option on the market that I've been able to find (of the cereal bar type that is) specifically for younger children. With my daughter she had these bars before the age of 1 and was totally fine with eating them, she coped with ease and never choked on them or struggled to digest them. Probably the number one reason I first started buying these was due to the fact that they contained no added extra's (no added flavours, preservatives, or colours). Feeding your child can be such a daunting task at times and wanting to do the best by their little bodies I always try to avoid addivatives and nasties when I can. To have a pre-packaged option thats shelf stable and able to be stashed in my bag for those meltdown moments is quite simply a lifesaver at times!
Taste wise my girl loved these bars and my son is looking to head down the same track. I too have tried them and although a little bland to my tastebuds, they are nice and I'm sure the blandness is what makes them just perfect for the littlies. I also know first hand of quite a few other children who I care for that happily eat these bars as well. Overall they seem to be a favourite and their smaller size is just perfect for little hands and bodies meaning there is never any waste.
One tiny downfall is the price, I try to always buy these on special to avoid feeling quite so bad. In saying that the price seems to be in line with anything in the supermarket these days that is of reasonable nutrition or good for you, on the higher price scale that is. Definately worth a try for your little one, I highly recommend giving these a go to the parents out there
I purchased a box of these to add to my toddler's lunchbox for daycare. She is a little tummy on legs, always eating. I usually provide a sandwich, a yoghurt pouch, and some crackers. I decided to try these out after reading the previous review. My eldest daughter never liked this sort of thing.
When I got the box home, I opened it. It has 6 bars inside which are small, but designed for little people. I opened one up and ate a small section of it just to try it out. The wholegrain cereal wrapped around the fruit inside, was as expected. Kinda dry, biscuit like and not too sweet. The fruit inside was very sweet, but there is not much of it which makes it a good balance of flavours.
I thought the bar was nice, but the true test was what my toddler thought. I called her over and showed her the bar. She sat down and took it from me. She tore a tiny piece off the bar and tentatively put it in her mouth. She then got up chewing on the bar as she walked. Not a minute later, she came back empty-handed and looking for more.
So overall, it looks like these bars are a hit with her. The price is a little steep for what they are, but I think the nutrition ratio is probably better than other cereal bars on the market. Having 6 in a box is enough for one a day during the week and one for a picnic or other snack on the weekend.
These are great little cereal bars for younger children. They are much like other soft fruit filled cereal bars on the market but are specifically targeted at children 1-3 years old and have no added nasties so I feel confident to buy them for my son.
They taste really nice, with a soft muffin type outside with a fruit type puree in the centre. My son really loves them and thinks it is a real treat when he is allowed to have one. They are quite a convenient thing to have in my bag when we go out as they will keep him happy when he gets a bit niggly from too much shopping.
At $4 plus a box they are more expensive than other fruit bars, but I like these ones not only for the fact they have no artificial additives but because they are the ideal size for little hands and little tummies. If he has one of these for afternoon tea I know he will still have enough appetite to eat his dinner.
