K-Zone Prankster's Handbook product reviews

When I heard others talking about this book and what their children had done as pranks I couldn't help thinking it was a book that would be right up my 11 year olds alley. She loves pulling pranks on others or telling jokes so a book full of pranking ideas would be something she could really sink her teeth into.

She started reading as soon as she got it not giving away any ideas of what plans she might be cooking up which had me really worried about what might happen. She kept warning us to be prepared to be pranked and laughing to herself so I was expecting something pretty extreme!

The first prank she found in the book was an easy one for her to achieve which was changing the google language on our computer so when I went to do a google search I couldn't understand the search results, to make things worse I didn't know how to change it back and she wouldn't show me.

My partner isn't the biggest fan of technology, finding things a little complicated at times, so the prank Casidy pulled on him really had him getting a bit miffed. He uses his cellphone for work so needs it every day so when he went to turn his phone on one morning with no success even after chucking it on the charger for half an hour he wasn't all too impressed. Little did he know that Casidy had taken the battery out!

The book I think is great for young boys and girls, but more so aimed at boys in my opinion. I read through it myself and I liked the "Get out of" section in the book. I made sure I read it thoroughly just in case she decided to try and get out of any of her chores! The other stand out thing is the reversible cover so you can hide that it is in fact a prankster's book.

Master 12 couldn't wait to get his mitts on this book, and I am always happy to support my kids with their reading. I love it even more when I don't have to encourage them to read because they themselves can't wait to read. What I didn't prepare for was the pranks he was going to pull on his poor unsuspecting mother - *me*

The K-Zone pranksters handbook is a funky, appealing, easy to read book that will appeal to most young readers out there - both boy and girl. At first flick through the book, I personally thought my son would find it far too busy and give up on it all too soon - boy was I wrong.

The book covers pranks of every degree, from ones great for a laugh to ones that are bound to land you in some pretty hot water. And master 12 sure thought he was funny when he removed 'all' the toilet paper from our two bathrooms and hid them under his bed, giggling like a mad person when the search for the missing toilet paper ensued, and only coming clean several hours later when we had already purchased new toilet paper.

It wasn't just master 12 who enjoyed the book either, his father also was found regularly seated with book in the hand, sadly producing a few small tears in miss 6 when he glued a 50c coin to the front doorstep and pointed her towards it. Poor child does not in anyway appreciate being pranked, especially when it comes to money

This really is a GREAT book, especially if you are wanting to get kids away from the TV...but it really is best suited to those who DO have a sense of humour, or do not mind being pranked. Would also make a great gift too, and the price is also very good for the amount of things within the covers of this great little handbook.

As an added bonus, the book also rates the pranks in terms of how much trouble you will get into if caught. It also has some famous celebrity pranks and a guide to help you know what to watch out for to keep yourself safe from being pranked on. All n all a really great book!

K-Zone is a kid friendly magazine which is small, almost pocket sized and full of bites of information on pop culture and other fun stuff. Its largely aimed at boys, but it certainly appeals to my daughter as well. In fact she will spend an hour pouring over them at the local library and laughing at the funny pictures. For this reason, I was very excited to get the Prankster's Handbook.

The Handbook has a bright and appealing cover. Its got the K-Zone branding, and promises over 300 pranks. The cover art shows safety tape and green slime. So I feel this would appeal to boys 6 and up for that reason. My daughter and I really liked the glossy pages inside. Each page is really busy with zany backgrounds, fancy headers, computer graphics and framed blurbs about each prank or idea.

While at first it seems chaotic, I found it really easy to read in this layout. However, some of the text backgrounds were a little difficult, either pixelated or too bright behind the black. This book had my almost 6 year old girl laughing and rolling around. She wanted to try some of the pranks, and the fun prank facts about things like the Angler Fish were really cool. The LOL Labels were a bit strange, but they got a laugh too. I do think they would have been more functional done as a sticker. The shame files made for fun reading, but the Get Out of excuses were a bit too unbelievable.

This book will easily have your child reading and laughing for hours. I would heartily recommend it for school holiday fun. Though you may want to read along and supervise any pranks or just hide all devices Personally can't imagine my daughter would be able to get the vaccum up to our room to give us an early morning fright as suggested, but I'm quite sure she could pop the battery out of my phone.
