I can remember eating Griffins Snax from in my childhood, they seemed to be one of our pantry staples that we always had on hand for a quick snack always with marmite, cheese or on there own. Now 20 years later we always have Snax in our pantry also they are such a versatile tasty cracker and are so easy to dress up or down. Over the years I have seen quite a few different varieties of the Kiwi favourite but was very happy to see a garlic variety come along, we are huge garlic fans in our household.
The Garlic and Sesame Snax Crackers sounded like a wonderful flavour choice, a nice change from the Original Snax. The crackers did have a relatively strong garlic taste but it wasn't overpowering, you can't really taste the sesame seeds however they do provide a slight different texture. Although my partner and 2 year old prefer the originals, I did really enjoy the taste of these.
These make a great addition to a cheese board or any type of party platter served with a range of sauces, dips and chutneys, different cheeses, meats and vegetables, absolutely everything seems to go so nicely with these tasty bite-sized morsels. So great to have on hand for those unexpected visitors that pop by without notice. The amount in a box is very generous so there's always plenty to go around.
Last year I was very fortunate to win a years supply of Griffin's biscuit. I got to chose which ones I wanted so I searched through their website and discovered a new Snax flavour, garlic and toasted sesame. I love garlic so I had to get them. I wasn't sure how strong they were going to be or how the kids would go with it but either way I knew I would love them.
The best thing about them is that they taste great on their own so I don't have to add calories. I often eat them like I would chips. This is also important today as my girls are fighting a tummy bug. Although I am healthy I am scared that it might hit me so the only thing I have eaten today are these crackers. The girls have eaten a few too and they make a nice change from dry toast.
The crackers have a distinctive garlic taste but isn't too strong for the kids. This also makes them great for toppings like cheese and tomato or for dipping. The sesame seeds aren't too much. I had to look closely to see them. These are now my favourite cracker. I have introduced lots of others, adults and kids, to them too.
