In the future they will invent time travel, but it will be illegal, and only the crime syndicates will use it. what better way to hide a body than to send it 30 years into the past?
Joe (Gordon-Levitt) is a 'Looper', one of the best - a hired gun recruited by the mob to do one thing, wait for a target to be sent back in time, make the kill and dispose of the body. He's getting rich and life is good, until one day the syndicate decides to 'close the loop'.
His future-self (Willis) is sent back for assassination and young Joe can't pull the trigger.

This looked like an interesting film idea right from the start, but I wasn't sure enough about it to want to go and see it at the cinema. But, we did borrow it from the DVD store and watched it last night.
Gordon-Levitt does a good job of playing his own character with an essence of Bruce Willis. He does such a good character that you can see how he will grow into his future self, yet still stays true to himself as both a character and an actor.
The storyline itself is done quite well. Time travel has been invented and quickly outlawed. Things are so hard to get away with in some respects, in the future, that when they when criminal organizations want someone dead they send them back into the past where a Looper is waiting to kill them. This time though, our Looper hesitates when he sees that it is himself, therefore allowing himself to escape and setting off a chain of events.
The special effect are done really well and it is a believable world. The story line is good and kept us entertained enough, and wanting to pay attention that I enjoyed it thoroughly.
