Quick Heal is a relatively brand new brand in NZ and has a good user interface for their software. The parental controls are a little lacking for the in depth limiting that Kaspersky Pure 2.0 had but can still limit the websites and their sub domains, this is over and above the category blocking too, all you do for the sub domains is just put a tick in the box and it does that for you.

With the categories you can block a lot of categories from business, child abuse, downloading and sharing, gambling, XXX content even down to religion if you wish, there is also an excludes list so if there is a particular website in that blocked category you wish to go , then by adding it there you will still be able to go to that website.

The internet scheduling is a little lacking once again with only hourly times, but this is pretty straight forward with the key to show what colours are allowed and blocked. Just select the times they are allowed and they will change to allowed, the only frustrating thing is that you can only click one box at a time, you can't just drag over all the ones that you allow which for me is a little disappointing as this means spending a little more time to select the times they can use the internet and if have a few users this will take a lot more time then you would normally want to spend doing this.

The rest of the menus are just like most, you have internet & network for controlling which parts you want to protect online like Browsing protection, malware protection, Phishing and firewall. With the firewall itself it doesn't really have a inbuilt one but does work with any others you might have installed including the default windows Bit Defender. so as long as you are even using the default one it is all good I have had no problems with it so far.

You can also use the inbuilt External Drives & Devices menu to prevent the auto running of anything on the external devices and scanning them when they are first inserted, it also has data theft protection too for the computer , this means you can stop the external removable devices being connected and used as well.

The files and Folders menu has all sorts of scanning tools ranging from DNA scans and the standard virus protection scans and also being able to select files and folders to exclude too and of course the quarantine and backup areas.

There is also a PC Tuner as well being able to tune your PC to work more efficiently with Disk cleanups and being able to do a defrag on the drives too. This little menu is one of the features that makes this a good all in one PC security suite of course there are also the little problems like always which is the human error again being able to override the system and still go where there are problems and letting stuff in when they are not meant to, but with an active person who will read the warnings and turn away from where they need to go when it might be dangerous then this suite is very good.

I enjoyed using Quick Heal with all its features but for me and my family I think I might stick to my Kaspersky Pure more for the control I have with the parental controls which for a family with young kids is the deciding factor for me. Both however don't use too much computer resources allowing your computer to not chug along because you want to protect it.
