Product reviews...
I don't know about you, but I am one of those people who think the best review for a takeaways or restaurant is how many people are in it. I can honestly say, on that basis, Chin Wags is a place that rates a 10.
I went there for the first time last week. What an amazing place, you could very easily drive past it and not know its there, the decor is very low key but that is more than made up for by the welcoming staff and the brilliant food. All produce is sourced locally and is very fresh, this can be tested by what comes out of the kitchen. The menu on the website is out of date but a few of the items are available all year round. In winter they have a $35.00 PP special, this is a main and dessert of your choice.
My son went for the Chicken, this was stuffed with Cream Cheese and wrapped in Bacon & a Cranberry Jus, it was accompanied by fresh beans and potatoes. For dessert he had Profiterole, with a Raspberry Coulis soup. I had the special of the day which was Pork belly, with a red wine Jus, minted peas and Potatoes, my dessert was Chocolate Spring rolls and a Caramel dipping sauce. We decided to share both our mains and desserts. Both the Chicken and Pork were well cooked and tender, the dessert was just to die for. So much so that we were scraping & licking our plates clean and could have easily eaten another plate of each. There is also a child's menu, which has favorites such as Nuggets & Chips. They also have a great lunch menu, which can be eaten in or done as a takeaways. This is only $12.00 PP.
Chin Wags is closed Mondays & Tuesdays. They are open the rest of the week from 12 for lunch and 6 PM for dinner. Clarks Beach is 20 mins from Pukekohe or Papakura, but as yet I haven't found anywhere better and I know it is worth the trip. A review was done by a critic who said he didn't want to eat the meal as it looked so good, but when he did, he was very happy with it.
Any words I say are not enough, make a date night and come and try it for yourself. I know you wont be disappointed, you will then know why it has won Beef and Lamb awards since it opened. I only ask you to invite me so I can have another great meal.
