This is quite fun to use, I've got to say. I was one of the kids trying this thing out at the Cub hall, and even though the string had a good tension, I couldn't get a bullseye, I don't think I even got any of the arrows inside the target . It was neat how the bow had a hole in it so the arrow didn't wobble, but I may not be speaking for others when I say that if there hadn't been a hole there, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

You see, when I was younger I did REAL archery with my friends, so using this toy bow and arrow set wasn't too hard, I guess that at the Cub meeting I was just a little rusty. The arrows could fire from a good distance, I fired the arrows about 5 metres (give or take) away from the whiteboard we were using as a target, and the arrows stuck well. Compared to the Blowpipe, this thing wasn't as exciting, the arrows didn't have any tailfins at the back like there are on real arrows, so the ammo wasn't as accurate, plus they didn't fly very fast, so they suffered a bit of drop.

I think I would have to go with the age group of 6 years and over as shown on the box, if my 3 year-old brother had a shot at this, either the bow would be pretty much as tall as him, making things a little difficult, or his little muscles wouldn't be able to pull the bowstring back very much and the arrows would land not to far from where he was standing.

I think you might find this "Petron" product okay, but the little kids would surely think of this thing as their god, it is so kid-friendly that they will want to play with it all day. The price is a little high; $33 dollars is a little too much for a few pieces of plastic and a string, but other than that, the rest is good. This toy would make a good Birthday/Christmas present; bet the sight of this thing would make the kid's eyes sparkle. Hope you like this, because if it was good at the Hamilton Toy Fair, it will probably be as cool in your household.
