I am always forever printing things out for the kids like worksheets and more, then with me doing study I am always printing essays to be read over and written over before getting my good copy done and then I have my photography business that I print onto CD's. So really I do a lot and this printer was my best bet to get everything I needed done. Printing, scanning, copying, printing to CD, using USB or my memory cards to print from, Its little screen makes it so easy to use and the buttons make it more simple, its not hard to learn how to use it, if I can do it anyone can

I love that its wireless, means I can sit on my couch and let it print, pick up the printer stuff as I walk pass the printer, I don't have to worry about plugging it in, also can connect it to hubbys computer and phones if I wanted to. I love that the paper feed can be from two trays. It always stops the printing and gives you a warning on computer AND the printer screen telling you why its stop my one is mainly its out of ink or paper. The downside of it is the ink cost $30 per colour but I guess its worth it in the end as I get bright colours and prints a lot for the ink.

A great unit for the home-office or serious print-junkie who loves hardcopies, this beastie has almost it all. Scanner, printer, copy function, cd/dvd printing, duplexing, USB/Ethernet/Wireless connectivity, print via USB and direct from memory cards... about the only thing it doesn't carry is fax capability. If it had that, it would be a true 'everything-but-the-kitchen-sink' device.

The print time is pretty good, with around 12-14 single-sided pages per minute in greyscale and duplex giving you around 8ppm. A 10x15cm full colour glossy photo taking a reasonable 31 seconds on average in our test runs. One of the downsides we did encounter was that it seemed to dump a lot more ink during automatic head-cleaning cycles, making this 6-ink model less economical to run than some of the older, 4-ink models. However, the extra Grey ink cart gives you stunning black-&-white photos without a hint of colour-caste... so it's a bit of a trade-off really. If photos aren't your thing, look for a 4- or 5-cart model.

The other downside is less functional and more cosmetic... the glossy black shell shows every grubby fingerprint, every speck of dust... and care must be taken when cleaning it because it will also show up every scratch! If you don't mind it losing it's lustre, then you can safely forget this paragraph. Wink Icon

On a more technical level, this printer is very eco-smart when it comes to power consumption, ranging from 14-18w during active phase, and a very thrifty 1.7w during idle. It's a little bulkier than earlier models and certainly takes up more desktop real estate, but frankly the feature boosts warrants the few extra square centimetres used.

Overall, a very nice machine at a very good price. The bundled software can pretty much be biffed out after you install the basic drivers and the disc-printing app, from there on use whatever apps you are most comfortable with. I would like to see some 3rd party apps to cover the disc printing. Apart from that... it's an ideal option to consider.
