I absolutely adore this book! I was hooked from the first page til the last! And i was so captivated by this story that i couldn't put it down at all! My poor family was told to leave me alone to read! It took me just one day to read, finally putting at down at 11pm!
This is the story of Eliza Bones. She is telling the story of how her and her high school friends are involved in a murder. The murder she is confessing to.
Eliza is the leader of her group of friends, and when a new girl; Ella starts school, she brings her into the group. The other two friends Lexi and Marianne are not pleased with this, and this is the beginning of a rift between them. Will their strong bond cope?
This is a story of love, blood, violence and trying to make wrong things right.
Eliza has a friend she has known since birth, Neill. It is their undying friendship that i feel binds this story together, and made me shed tears.
As this story is based in a high school - not just any high school it's in a privileged gated community. All bar a few kids are spoilt rich kids, the ones who aren't their parents have just come in to alot of money so this school is a new way of life for them. Ella is one of these kids.
There is the usual high school things like bullies, dentention, canteen food, popular kids and teachers pets.
It was a bully who eventually messed with the wrong girl, and he then paid the consequences. But who did it? And what becomes of them? Read to find out.
Eliza's way of telling her story is most captivating. I felt like i was right beside. She tells it in her own way, with a huge attitude, she has plenty of opinions and is self centered.
I will definitely be reading this again and will be recommending it to others. Bring on the next Shirley Marr novel i say!
