Dead Space is a feature length horror/sci-fi animated movie based on the much anticipated Electronic Arts video game set for release in October 2008. Dead Space will serve as a prequel to the game and will take adult animated horror to a whole new level.
When a deep space mining operation discovers a mysterious alien Marker, some believe they have finally found evidence of our creators. However, with the removal of the Marker, a horrific alien species is unleashed - a species which had been entombed within a remote planet - now, a desperate fight for survival ensues.
The story follows a select group of miners and crew members as they confront a grotesque and lethal invasion unlike anything ever seen before.
Contains 2 exclusive "cheat codes" integral the the game.

OK so its a cartoon and the special affects are as good as any cartoon can have but what makes this so special is that there are no discreet cutaways offscene when someone transforms or gets hacked to bits or commits suicide in a particularly blood-soaked manner. Thats why it carries a hefty R rating in stores. The story is pretty good with some character depth in even the shortest lived, and the story flows along pretty well despite the unrealistic nature of the plot. I gave it a high Believability score simply because we dont know what is out there in space and its just as likely true as it is fiction. Having played the game I found the codes hidden in this dvd a bit pointless but for novice players or the experienced ones who enjoy a bit of fun after beating it a few times they could prove useful and entertaining. In the end this dvd proved to be a bit of a frilly perk more than anything integral to the games playability or plot but diehard horror-fiction fans will enjoy a bit of lighthearted fun watching it. If it was priced a bit lower it would have been one of those 'you should get it' things but at this price its one of those 'only if you REALLY want it' things.

Changing the colors of the leaves, moving a sunbeam to melt snow, waking animals from their winter slumber, or giving a patch of sproutlings a sprinkle of water are all within the realm of these seasonal specialists.
