Product reviews...
With my oldest son, I'd never used a breast pump, but this time I wanted other family members to be able to join in and enjoy feeding our youngest family member, my 9 week old son. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the Freedom Breast Pump was to both assemble and use, although I do agree that it was rather difficult to actually see the milk flow into the bottle.
It seems pretty durable as well, but the only other problem I found with it was the "flexible cup", as it kept coming away from the breast (unless I pressed VERY firmly, which was rather uncomfortable on the wrist), which of course interrupted the flow of the milk. I would also suggest having a tissue or cloth handy, especially when taking the pump off the breast (or even for resting underneath the "cup" for those times it comes away from the breast) as there was nothing there to stop "dribbles" when the suction is released.
Overall, easy to assemble, use and wash, and considering what the kit comes with, a pretty decent price as well.
I really liked this breast pump, far more than the Avent one I already have. It is easy to put together and comfortable to use. I did find it a little hard to see how well my milk was flowing into it. I particularly like the sterilising unit, it is small, easy to use and perfect if you are travelling. However I would suggest a drainage tray at the base, to avoid getting boiling hot water on you, might have been useful. Did find the bottle lid a bit hard to attach but may have been because the pieces were new. My 5 week old baby took to the bottle straight away. Was really happy with this product and would recommend it to any mother wanting a simple, comfortable, manual breast pump.
It was comfortable and easy to use. Instructions were clear and easy to understand. The cup was soft, unlike other pumps I had used before. The pump itself was easy to take apart and clean and put back together again as it only consists of 3 pieces. The only thing I found let the pump down a bit for me was the suction didn't seem enough. Otherwise I found this product awesome and I would use it again and recommend it to others. The bottle that came with it was great and my daughter took to it very well with no confusion for her.
