This book was picked up in a book sale for $5.00, so that was a bargain! Overall this book lacks zest and appeal. A review below mine states that the book had furry bits to the animals, our version doesn't, and I think if it had I would change my mind about it.

The story line is very basic, you meet a variety of northern hemisphere Arctic animals, there were a couple that we were un familiar with. I prefer local books overall.

Its a nice quick simple book with re readability value for my almost 4 year old who loves to remember and recite back stories to anyone that will listen. So for him, i believe he will get the most enjoyment out of it.

For $5.00 you can't really go wrong, but personally the paper is flimsy and won't last that long if my one year old was to get a hold of it, so the poor quality and lack of an engaging story line lead me to a low review on this one.

This is a delightful book that my daughters love. I have read it so many times that I could recite it too you. It is very popular in our household. We have three other books from this series too and they are all fabulous.

All the animals a furry. The children especially when they were younger loved to feel the animals. For this reason it is great book for reading while the children are on your lap. I have read it to my New Entrant class and they all wanted to feel the pages so it was not really suitable for reading to the whole class.

At home with my children we have had a lot of discussion based around the book. My children have learnt that hares are a bit like rabbits, huskies are a type of dog and that the animals in this book live in a very cold place where it snows all year round.

I read one of these books from this series every night at my children's request. My girls (2 and 3 1/2) know them off by heart as do Mummy and Daddy. i have also given these books as gifts and recommended them to others they are such lovely innocent books.

This is another lovely book from Whybrow and Eaves.
I've read this book to the children at my centre several times, and each times they love it.

Husky Pup goes off exploring in a winter wonderland, and meets up with many of his friends, including polar bear, seal, and puffin.
With each animal comes a different noise that the children can make to go along with them - which the children love!
Along with the noises for the children to make, there are lovely soft pieces on each of the animals to touch and feel.

There were a few animals that the children weren't familiar with being from the southern hemisphere, however they enjoyed being told about the different animals. I will admit that I was a little disappointed that they generically called the orca a whale rather than giving it it's proper name, but other than that, this was a great book to read to the children.
