This book charmed me with it's cover before I even got to the story! It's a beautiful piece of artwork that draws you in, little do you know but you can read the story simply by looking at the front cover for long enough.

To be honest the back of the book didn't tell me much, about the same as it tells you up there ^, yet it still intrigued me enough for me to open it and see what was inside. I was rewarded with an intriguing and beguiling story about five sisters who are able to enter into the world of the fairies from the bedroom they share together.

The story is set in Transylvania, with a handy glossary at the beginning to decipher some of the complicated Romanian Transylvanian terms, although you can generally figure out the context.

With a cast of characters from a mixture of fairy tales, and a charmingly blunt narrator in the form of the first person perspective of Jenica/Jena the 'sensible and plain' sister, this story unfolds with a delightfully dry perspective.

Overall I think this is really a love story. True love, family love, and love of self.

Just beware, all is not as it seems...
