Sparkle Kitty product reviews

Nobody puts princess in a tower! Sparkle*Kitty is an adorably fun, social, and magical spell card game for all ages, sizes and genders. Once upon a time, a group of powerful princesses were captured and locked away in Cursed "No Cursing" towers by the evil queen Sparkle*Kitty!

All their words and magic spells vanished and became sugar & spice... almost everything nice. Luckily these are no ordinary princesses and you are no ordinary player! Take matters into your own hands and harness the simple and sweet words into special spell combinations to set yourself free! The first to escape, wins!

Sparkle Kitty is a game that I initially only bought because my youngest was enamored by the rainbow and the cat and her siblings had already had input into another board game or two. So, I said yes to taking this home, got annoyed with myself upon arriving home and seeing it is a minimum three player game and was then proven wrong when all three of my kids enjoyed it. To start off with, you pick a princess card. Now please, don't let the fact that the characters are all princesses put you off, it hasn't put my son off, and the other great fact about them is that they aren't stick thin, big breasted girls but a variety of body curves and skin colours.

You start off with your tower underneath your princess and the aim is to get rid of these cards first. Now, you can do this by using up the five cards in your hand, though there are a couple of extra chances to remove a card or even give your opponent another card in their tower. Play is pretty simple, your card must go on one of two cards and must match either colour or symbol. Each time you do, read out your two word spell (unless you have a black card by your tower, then you have a three word spell). The kids love this aspect, it gives for some amusing phrases and there are tonnes of cards.

The game can be a little hard at first, to remember the few little bonuses and saying your extra word in your spell, but it has proven to be a lot of fun.

Product image for QuiddlerQuiddler challenges players to create words from an ever-increasing number of letter cards in their hand. The game lasts eight rounds, with three cards being dealt to each player in the first round, four cards in the second, five in the third, and so on. Each card has one or two letters on it as well as a point value.
