This appealed to my children as it was gluten free. It was a huge hit in this household and we have since purchased it again. It is not too sweet and really does taste like strawberries, which is great when they are out of season. My 9 year old who normally does not like any kind of dessert or sauce loved it, so we were pleasantly surprised at her reaction. We tried it in the supermarket before purchasing and it didn't even last the week - not because it went off, but because little people and the older man-child kept helping themselves to it.

It is good on pancakes, with cream inside a sponge instead of jam and Miss 9 even liked it on toast. It is also yummy on unsweetened yoghurt when you are watching your carb or sugar intake. There are lots of yummy lumps of real berries too. It would also be good as a sweetener on porridge, bircher muesli, waffles and it is of course delicious on vanilla (or any flavoured) ice cream. The only downside was that it didn't last all that long, as it was incredibly popular in this house. I really recommend it as it tastes so much like strawberries.

We don't get many sauces for desserts that my gluten free daughter likes or can have, there has been many days she sits at restaurants or at home while everyone else gets a yummy dessert with sauce all over it and she gets plain. So when this strawberry sundae sauce came out we just had to try it.

The bottle is simple with a simple label but shows what it is, we opened it and a burst of strawberry flooded the senses. Pouring it onto icecream was easy the sauce is runnier than normal which I like means if won't get stuck I the bottom of the bottle. We all enjoyed this sauce with the chunks of strawberries that is the best. It tasted like real strawberries and just made the icecream so good. Looking at the detail about this sauce we fave a banana split a go which mu daughter has never had and she enjoyed it on so many levels. We wanted to try other things that were suggested like pancakes but instead I made creapes and drizzled the sauce over the banana, blueberries and strawberries and rolled up to eat this brought a new taste to it all so yummy and good. My daughter rolled her one up with the fruits lemon juice a little sugar and used the strawberry sundae sauce as a dipping sauce she said it was delicious.

The sauce itself is great so much you can do with it. It's simple yet amazing and has a great taste to it the price isn't bad eithe

I am a sucker for a scrummy strawberry sundae from one of our local fast food joints, but recently going dairy free I am gutted that I can't have one when the cravings hit! Luckily for me I was chosen to try this Barker's sundae strawberry sauce, and thankfully it is dairy free! There aren't many products like this that are completely dairy free, as many of them seem to have hidden milk powders in them. So thank you Barker's for creating a sauce I could try!

I love the labels on these Barker's sauce bottles. Nice and simple, a bit colourful, and full of good suggestions for using the sauce just incase you are stuck for ideas. Opening the lid I was met with the most amazing strawberry sauce smell, and it matched the strawberry sundae smell I had been missing! I couldn't wait to try it that I had to put a little bit on my finger. This sauce is a little runnier than the tropical mango sauce from Barker's I also reviewed, so I just about fully drowned my finger as I tipped it, but once I had realised this I was able to adjust my pouring to suit. The sauce tasted exactly the same as I had been hoping for. Very strongly strawberry, the right amount of sweet, and so so yummy. You know that they have used real strawberries because of the strawberry seeds all through the sauce, and there are some very small lumpy bits that I can only assume are bits of strawberry. It was nice to read the ingredients list and find out that the sauce is 45% strawberries, and strawberries are the main ingredient on the list. To me, this makes it a far healthier choice than other similar products and I'm all for that - even though it is still a treat food it feels better to know you're choosing a slightly healthier option!

Wanting to try this but not having any dairy free ice cream in the house I decided to whip up a batch of low fat low sugar no dairy raspberry muffins and as an added extra I put a teaspoon of the sauce into a little dip in the top of each of the muffins. This ended up being a fantastic idea as the sauce withstood being cooked and it added an extra dimension to the muffins. I bet it would be amazing in a nice batch of vanilla cupcakes too for when i'm not trying to be quite so healthy!! Thank you Barker's! This product will be well enjoyed in our house (infact, we have already used half of the bottle and there are only two of us here!).

Back in the day when I was a little girl, my parents used to take my brother and me to a burger restaurant where they served the best Knickerbocker glory's. I was always so excited when they brought out this marvellous dessert with ice cream, strawberry sauce, whipped cream and a cherry on top. When I opened the bottle of Barkers Sundae Strawberry sauce it brought all those memories flooding back!

The sauce comes in a clear glass bottle so you can see the rich red sauce. It is not as thick as the chocolate and caramel sauces and runs quite quickly, even when it has been refrigerated. The sauce is made up of 45% strawberries and this is evident with the strawberry seeds and other finely chopped strawberry parts. The sauce is rich and sweet and tastes delicious.

I was happy to keep putting drops on my finger and licking it off but I thought I should be a little more productive with it! I added some sauce to some cupcakes which were a huge hit with the family and my daughters loved mixing the sauce with vanilla ice cream to make strawberry ice cream. This would also make a quick, easy and delicious topping on cheesecake and although I have yet to recreate my knickerbocker glory, it is on the cards.

Barkers have produced yet another high quality, scrumptious sauce that I would highly recommend to all!

First impression was cute label, really like the serving suggestions. Being New Zealand made is another bonus. I have tried some of the Barkers products in the past and being rather impressed so I had high expectations of this sauce. I opened it up and poured some onto a cheesecake and found that it was a bit runny and a lot of it ran off the cake onto the plate which was a bit disappointing. I took a bite and it reminded me of strawberry jam but liquidised, I would recommend this for the taste but only if you don't mind drinking it instead of eating it. Most the rest of the family said that it was ok but not their first choice of sauces.

I will be looking forward to summer when I can try this with ice cream and in some baking. This is not my first choice of sauce due to how liquid the sauce was but then there have been a lot worse tasting sauces. There is a high concentration of strawberries which is great as a lot of sauces use concentrate instead of the actual fruit.

The information on the label is good, the taste wasn't too bad but still not my cup of tea, I prefer my sauces to be a bit firmer and not have to drink it through a straw.

Barker's Sunday strawberry sauce was a hit in my house and from when I opened it we were all excited to try it and thought it as so yummy when we did. My oldest son was throwing out all these suggestions of how we can use it. Of course first up we had it on ice cream and it was a hit and went so well with plain vanilla ice cream. We had it on yogurt which was also so tasty and a nice added hit to plain Greek yogurt.

I got my bake on and made a cheese cake and drizzled this sauce on top which went down a treat. It got eaten to fast before I remembered to take a photo of it. I love how easy the sauce is to pour out of the bottle, not to thick and not to runny. Good texture, taste and price for the bottle.

I made up a batch of muffins using the sauce as well. Placing some sauce in the middle of the muffins and adding a couple drips on the top so I knew which flavour was which. I poured some sauce in to a table spoon and used the tip of my finger to press some on the top of the muffin. These were for the sons first birthday party and they were a hit with the kids at the party. A lovely soft gooey and sticky muffin and kids loved them.

i would recommend this strawberry flavour to friends and buy it again as it is a real treat and goes so well with many different food pairings and is so easy to use. I find I got good usage from the bottle and have just under half left to use anther day which I would like to try on pancakes over the weekend. I like how the bottle shows images of what to use the sauce with, great idea to give ideas on how to use it.

This product may be advertised as a kiddie's dessert dream, but it was a hit with the grown-ups as well! I was going out for a meal with friends so volunteered to bring something for afterwards. The something comprised freshly picked produce from my garden (feijoas, persimmons and figs) made into a fruit salad then topped with custard and a single white chocolate strawberry. I passed around the sauce so people could take as much or as little as they liked and immediately regretted it because they liked it so much they were coming back for seconds.

The strawberry taste is the same as you get from fresh fruit - a wonderfully authentic strawberry flavour which would complement most dishes like this. It would also be good on a plain steamed pudding. There is some sugar added as well, but even though it is very sweet, the strawberry stops it from becoming sickly. I don't eat a lot of sweet dishes but this is one I could happily eat again. (I like strawberry jam too so that clinches it.)

In these times of heightened awareness of what we are putting in our stomachs, this product - like all Barker's products - contains no food nasties, and it comes in a recyclable glass bottle rather than a plastic container. The fruit content is a full 45%, impressive when the high water content of strawberries is taken into account. The sugar content is high, but it is a sauce, not a dessert in itself, so a 30g serving (suggested on the bottle) is not going to do too much harm. I took less than this anyway as it looked a lot when it was on the plate.

Having escaped from my gourmet friends with a small amount of the sauce still left, I decided to try it out on two other dishes. Next morning, instead of having my usual soy milk on my porridge, I added just over half of the sauce that was left - about 15 g. It gave the porridge real zing, and completely altered the flavour. Now I want to try some of the rest of the sauces range this way.

The final 10g I used to liven up some cold lamb which I was having with salad for lunch. Lamb can be very boring when served on its own; I would normally add some pickles or a little chutney but decided to go sweet this time. It poured on just like tomato sauce but added an interesting and very pleasant aftertaste to the meat. I would not have thought of using a strawberry sauce like this, but it worked!
