I've been really enjoying The Librarians series and look forward to seeing what each season brings us.
The very first episodes, as with previous seasons, gives us what the librarians must face off against this time round, a former guardian (see the first movie, Quest for the Spear, to see her and Flynns history a bit more) and perhaps most worryingly for the librarians, could they be at odds with the library itself and their future there? The theme of this, the librarians at odds with the library flows throughout the season and does leave you wondering just what is going on, what can we expect and is all going to end well with our team. This season focuses more on Flynn than previously, especially as everything he knows about the library is being challenged along the way.
My favourite episode was predominantly in black and white, featuring Eve and Flynn who end up getting sucked into an old movie and are forced to progress through the film in order to escape. Of course, things don't go as hoped for the duo but there's plenty of fun in this episode and my son particularly liked the premise as he's at the state of wishing he could jump into his favourite shows and movies. There is a Christmas episode early on in which we get to find out more about Jones and his family/childhood. As per any Christmas apisode it has a lovey dovey happy ending, but what else would we expect? I did feel the ending was tad too sappy ending but still another fun apisode.
There is plenty going on and I love the questioning of the very institution they've been protecting all this time, looking forward to the next season.
