The Very Sleepy Bear product reviews

On a Jingle Jangle Mountain, as the snow fell on the rocks.
a bear was being followed by a very sneaky fox.
But Bear was in a hurry, he was running very late,
winter had arrived and it was time to hibernate!

The Very Cranky Bear is back and he has a mischievous fox to contend with!

Vibrant, funny illustrations are paired with an engaging story that's perfect for reading aloud.

My five year old is loving the independence of reading books. She wants to be just like her older sister and go to bed and read alone, but as she is still learning so we end up doing split pages. I am surprised by how well she done by reading this book. She would of got about 60% of the words alone without any aid from me and because it is a rhyming book it assisted with the flow of the story. She enjoyed that it had different sized font and took that to mean that she could yell it, although not always right it did help in a lot of areas.

The story is very cute and I am very impressed that they managed to rhyme the word Hibernate. The pictures help guide the story and aid in showing the emotion of the characters. You can see how tired the bear is and you feel for him just knowing he is ready to go to bed. You can tell the fox is no good and that he has his own selfish agenda. I myself found it rather predictable, but I loved watching my daughter have no idea and constantly get surprised as the story progressed. We all love the ending especially the picture showing where the fox is sleeping.

Since we have read the book twice together she now is using it to play schools and read to all of her students/teddys/dolls and on occasions her older sister. She has also read it to her daddy and it is has now became one of her favorite stories. She still has some issues with some of the words but has learnt so much from reading it repeatedly.. I think because its a rhyming book I have not gotten tired to hearing it a couple times a day (yet).

A very cute book and since it has a hard cover I am sure it will last for years to come. The price is reasonable considering how much use it will get and as it has been read now five days solidly, three to four times a day it is definitely paying for itself ten fold. It goes to prove that being selfish is not the way to live and maybe if he had been honest with the sleepy bear he might of found out what happens when the bear sleeps and ended up in a better position then what happens.
