Miss 3 has recently become a huge fan of dinosaurs, so I knew that this DVD would be right up her alley, as soon as she saw it she was begging me to put it on so that she could watch it, and ever since this has been played daily at our house over and over, you know it's always a good DVD when your child sit and watch the whole thing over again and again letting it replace all of her usual favourites. Like each of the other shows of the Dinosaur Train which we have watched in the past the shows on this DVD are broken down into 6 smaller individual shows each which focuses on a different topic, each of these shows starts with the DInosaur Train theme song which I must say is the catchiest theme song out there which I often find myself and Miss 3 singing throughout the day, it is very catchy be warned!

Like Miss 3 the main characters in the DVD, the Pteranodon family are always ready to go out and explore new things, and just love to be outdoors. Throughout the DVD they go on 6 different adventures via the Dinosaur Train ready to explore and learn about new places and things. A Lot of this particular DVD was based on making different sounds and music with our bodies, as the dinosaur friends and families prepares for Buddy's Mum's birthday surprise concert. RIght from the first episode we are learning about different dinosaurs, for example the Corythosaurus, and the music they make and how this is done. Miss 3 loved learning about the fact that you don't have to have an actual instrument in order to make music, and that this could be done through your body, such as the Corythosaurus using her crest to do so and make the most amazing sounds.

Though this is a child's DVD I loved the fact that it had many hidden important messages throughout it which were all integrated in such a great way to help children learn, messages such as that we all have different ways of learning which is what makes us different and that although we may look different to others in our family, family is sometimes who we choose to be with rather than a family whom we were born into. I loved the special segments at the end of each episode from Dr Scott who gives a little overview about real life facts based on the dinosaurs and events that have happened throughout the episode, it's nice to present children with these facts, and I thought this was great for building up a child's vocabulary with words such as hypothesis and what this means.

This is a great DVD which I would totally recommend getting for any dinosaur loving children out there, my daughter has shared it with a dinosaur loving 2 year old friend and apparently this was also a hit in his household, and his Mum found it very educational but in a fun way and I couldn't agree more! The graphics are gorgeous, nice bright colours and super adorable, featuring some of the friendliest dinosaurs you will ever come across, with 6 episodes totalling 77 minutes of screen time I think the cost is great!
