As with previous products I have reviewed of Alexandra's I love the minimal packaging and that I can see exactly what I am getting. I love the all naturalness of these products though I did wonder that it might be useful to state what the spices were. I love this Israeli couscous so I was excited to try this flavour.

This couscous was sitting in the pantry when cam home late after an incredibly stressful day and wanted to whip up a warm comforting meal. Whetted some oil and put the contents of the packet into the pot added water and left it to simmer for seven minutes whilst I whipped up a vegetable starry with chicken. by the time the couscous was cooked I was ready to serve dinner so I added a knob of butter and hey presto one very warming and delicious dinner. This couscous didn't have quite the same gravy as the other couscous I tried but I loved the taste of this as did my mum and we really enjoyed our meal. We both decided we would like a few more pine nuts but aside from that we really enjoyed this.

Despite having served up two decent servings with ur dinner there was plenty left over and I had two lunches worth left. Lucky me! Overall this couscous cooked up so quickly and was the perfect comfort food that we needed (followed by yummy rice pudding but thats another review...). Thanks Alexandra's for a delicious end to a horrible day. I can definitely recommend this couscous and I am definitely a fan of having a few of these in the cupboard as they are so quick and easy to cook. For the amount served this is good value for money and well worth trying if you like couscous or even if you don't give it a try.

It was a no brainer to ask to review the Alexandra's Moroccan, pine nut and mushroom couscous as not only do I love the quick and easy method of cooking couscous, the flavours are some of my favourite tastes.

What intrigued me was the size and the shape of the couscous granules in the packet. I am used to the small gritty sand-like type couscous and this sort does not look anything like the sorts I had had before, it almost looked like fish eggs. Believe me I've only ever seen said fish eggs (caviar) in magazines or television but once I had cooked the small round bead like granules, visually, everything except for the colour resembled fish eggs.

After overcoming the appearance I took note of the smell and the taste of the couscous and I must say I was pleasantly surprised, the mushroom and Moroccan flavours were all there and it really appealed to my whole family. The flavours really complimented the steak and salad that I served the couscous with and I am pleased to say all plates were eaten!

There was a lot of leftovers so I added a bit of shredded chicken to the couscous and enjoyed it with a green salad for my lunch the next day. Overall a quick and easy meal that I would recommend to people who are pressed for time getting a meal ready at night but would like to still create an interesting, tasty meal for their guests or family.

I love Couscous but for some reason it's something I always struggle to cook just right. I either over or under cook it I can never seem to get it just right. As a result I tend to avoid cooking it and only enjoy it when I am out and about. I have seen Alexandra's Couscous in the shop before and it sounds super easy so when the chance to review it came up I was keep to give it a try.

As soon as my review parcel arrived I was keen to try it so I decided that dinner that night would be couscous and chicken breasts. I threw the chicken in the oven and then just before it was ready I got on to the couscous. Following the instructions were super quick and easy, simply heat some oil, stir to coat the couscous and add some water. Then it's as simple as simmer for 7 minutes and standing for 7 minutes.

The end results was I managed perfectly cooked couscous for the first time. While the flavour wasn't as strong as I was expecting it to be being Moroccan spice and going from the smell of it cooking it was strong enough to be a very tasty side dish. After dishing out a decent amount for dinner there was still plenty left over so I cut up the left over chicken tossed it through the couscous with a little dressing for lunch the next day. The results was one very delicious salad, it was such a quick and easy way to use up the leftovers. It was so quick and easy to cook and so tasty it will be making it's way on to my shopping list for sure!

When you have busy children with hectic social lives you need fast, quick, yummy meals. My eldest had Brownies tonight so before dropping her off I put some Pork Chops in the oven and then played with my youngest while waiting for hubby to come home. Fast forward an hour and I was back picking my daughter up chops ready and turned off. Came home and thought great dinner will be prepared within twenty minutes but it was closer to fifteen - yay!!

So simple to make all the ingredients are in the cute bag and it it sounded so delicious. Instructions are so easy heat olive oil in a pot then add the contents of the bag and stir to coat the couscous. Add two cups of hot water and a tiny bit of salt and you are done. Once its boiled for seven minutes, stirring a couple of times - remove from heat and let cook in its own steam - easy especially when organising two children, cats, turtles and canaries. By the time I had them fed dinner for my husband and myself was ready.

My husband is loving Barkers Barbecue Jerk Sauce so used the rest of the second bottle on the chops and that was it dinner was served and I was not stressed or frazzled and it was delicious, devine, scrummy. My husband and I both loved it and could easily eat this again. I loved the flavour of the mushroom, pine nut and morroccan spice it was not over powering just perfectly right. This is great as an extra for a meat or potentially on its own as the packet suggests. I loved it for the taste and the simplicity of it all and will definitely be buying again!

Well I am once again blown away by how easy these products are to prepare. With a couple of cups of water, dash of oil and salt and 15 minutes later it was ready for the plate. I am always looking for quick dinner ideas and this has to be one of my favourites and the kids love it too.

This flavour had a pleasant smell while cooking. The mushroom taste was definitely there, however found that it was not an overpowering mushroom taste like some can be. I think this was due to the Moroccan spice that was also present. Was a very well balanced flavour. I used this as a side serving with dinner and found the 4 servings it suggests is very generous. So much so that after feeding 2 adults and 2 children for dinner, there were two servings left for lunch the next day. I enjoyed mine served cold with a lettuce salad.

I am so blown away with this product and this had to be my favourite flavour. It is attractive, tasty and filling. I have recommended it to many including my cafĂ © at work who is keen to serve it. I also found it in a supermarket while on holiday and purchased a couple of packets to leave with my friends. I look forward to having many more quick easy meals consuming many more packets of this product.

The label assured me that this was a complete meal, so that was my cue to try it out on an evening when there was a lot on and I needed to be organised to eat and run. And there would be leftovers as I was dining alone - even better!

The pack says it feeds four, but I found I needed more than a quarter of the packet to make a standalone meal. I did stir in some leftover chopped asparagus, which made it go further, but even then I must have eaten almost half the pack for my main meal. However, this was not a difficult decision. The flavour was superb - from the moment I first opened the packet and inhaled the spicy aroma to the times I removed the lid to stir the contents. If I had not been hungry before, the stimulation to my olfactory senses was more than enough to hook me in.

The taste was great - the appearance was a little strange as, once cooked, it looked a little bit like grey porridge (probably because of the mushrooms). But I was hooked once I had tasted the first mouthful. It was every bit as delicious as the smell had indicated it would be,

I thought about how best to use the leftovers, and decided to carry out an experiment. I had some sushi wraps in my fridge, so I figured it would be fun to see how successful a sushi batch might be. I mixed the leftovers with a little sugar, two teaspoons of sushi vinegar, and two tablespoons of plain mayonnaise to make it a little less dry. The mix was lumpier than a rice mix would have been, so I made thin sushis as I thought they would stay together better.

The mix went a long way - I used half the leftovers to make one batch of sushi, and there is still enough mix left over for another day. And as for the sushi, it succeeded beyond expectations. The filling set firm - not quite as firm as a rice mix might have been, but certainly firm enough to stay inside the wrapper and not squish out when I sliced the rolls. I stuffed the rolls manually as my Sushezi would not handle the larger grains, so I cut the wrap into 2.5 cm lengths with the intention of cutting each finished roll in two or three segments.

The sushis were a great way to use up the leftovers. The Moroccan flavours melded beautifully with the sushi vinegar and seaweed sushi wraps, and the creaminess of the mayonnaise prevented the final product from being too dry. I will be buying this product again; it comes in several flavours so I am now keen to try another one and see if that works as sushi as well. Perfect lunchbox material!
