The kids didn't want any break between seasons one and two, so we dived straight on into the next season with lots of excitement from the kids. The special effects in the show are nothing great compared to the special effects we have today but it adds to the cheesyness that is this show and the kids haven't noticed this in any way, so it doesn't take away from the show. Sometimes it's glaringly obvious such as one which brings a comic book building to life and quite often with those in monster costumes you can see where it doesn't quite sit right around the eyes.

One thing that I do like about the stories is that there isn't any gore or real violence in the episodes and they stay true to the book series (each episode is based upon a book by the same name) and you get the trick endings (as my eight year old calls them) where it turns out that things still aren't quite as you expected, like a ghost actually being a human who was hidden from invading aliens and so on. The kids do a good job an as seems typical the adults are a bit over the top but not horribly done, and again, I'm loving the gender balance.

As I write this we are already halfway through season three, so you know the kids are loving it.
