Well our whole family was excited to try Kraka Russian Fudge as we are unashamed lovers of Russian fudge!

The packaging is a simple heat sealed cellophane bag with the company name on the front sticker and ingredients and contact details on the back. Initially I thought the company name was Karaka, and was calling it that, until my husband pointed out it was in fact Kraka, which I can assume is pronounced cracker. And cracker this fudge is!

The fudge was slightly broken up when I received it, but I took that as a good sign as I detest Fudge that is oily and soft and sticks to the packet. The fudge had a nice colour, it had a crumbly looking texture but when we ate it, it had a lovely smooth creamy, buttery taste. Not an easy thing to create with fudge, but Kraka fudge has nailed it!

I see from the above product details that they sell at expos and markets, but I did note they said on their Facebook page they are looking at creating an online store, which will be a welcome option for people (like me) looking for a yummy fudge hit!

Overall, I would recommend this fudge to all sweet tooths out there!

I myself am quite a fudge fan, so I never hesitated to give this a try. This isn't the nicest fudge I have ever had, but nevertheless, it was still yummy. Unlike most fudges I've tried, this one was quite crumbly, the fudge had a rather rough texture, compared to the expected smooth, almost creamy and firm texture. The fudge was rather sweet, the flavour was not quite recognisable, but it reminded me a bit of caramel, but I don't think that was what it was made out of.

The portion size was a bit dismal, both my Mum and little brother tried some, and liked it, but what was left over didn't last very long after I began eating it. There really isn't much to say about this fudge, I think that it was tasty, but it had a rather gritty texture. I would be happy to try this stuff again, as it was a good treat, but in the long run, I prefer the normal types of fudge out there.

It is a shame that there is no known price, nor do there appear to be supermarkets where this fudge is commercially available, so it will be difficult finding it again, but I would be happy to keep an eye out for it, so this fudge isn't that bad. Personally I do not think it is honest to give this product a full score, but it would be dishonest to give it a bad one, and I would only recommend it to anyone who likes the more granular variety of fudge, as they would be the best people to buy this product. Overall, not the best fudge I've had, but it was still tasty nonetheless.

I haven't tried much in the way of fudge, as I am generally more of a gummy kind of person. But I saw this and thought why not. My past dealings with fudge have had a rather firm, and a little chewy texture.

This russian fudge is rather different. Very light, very fragile, and it literally melts in your mouth. Quite a crumbly fudge, it breaks apart very easily, which is great for sharing, and almost has the consistency of crystallised honey as it melts in your mouth. The overall flavour is rather subtle and mellow. Not a very strong flavour, but still tasty, and leaves a sweet aftertaste in the back of the mouth.

Very basic and simple packaging, which is probably for the best as the price is on the high side as it is. The crumbly nature of the fudge does make this light caramel treat look a bit less appealing, but the flavour and texture is definitely good enough to warrant a purchase on the odd occasion as a delicacy.

Unfortunately, this product is hard to come by, as it is only available from expos and markets, so it loses some points due to accessibility. With a shelf-life of several months, one would hope to see it becaome more readily available in the future

I have very fond memories of making fudge with my mother for the church fair every year. I have always found as my mother did that making fudge is a science. The failure rate due to over or under cooking is very high. Also for the sake of my waistline it is not a good idea to have a whole batch of fudge in the house, so these days I will only buy fudge so I can limit the amount I eat.

Russian fudge has always been my favourite so when KIWIreviews mentioned they had Kraka Fudge available to review I couldn't resist. My daughters suddenly wanted to be extra kind to me when they saw what I had too. The 60 gram block was gone in seconds. It was a favourite for all of us. The fudge was lovely and creamy. It was not too hard or too soft. It was had a lovely even caramel colour. Unfortunately it was quite broken up when it arrived to us so wasn't looking flash but this didn't affect the taste. The packaging was very simple, a cellophane heat sealed bag with a sticker on the front and the back.

The downside for me was that I can't get hold of anymore easily. It would be great if they did mail order or some stores stocked it. It is made in Te Puke so I will be asking friends over that way to keep an eye out for it at markets because they are sure to love it too.

NB: At the time of writing this review I did not know the price so I am unable to score it fairly.
