Woo hoo, only this book and one more until this series is finished, I am quite surprised at how fast it has gone by, but if anything, that is a good things, as most times, when a book series goes on too long it can get quite boring. While the book appears to be oriented around an age group which I am slightly outside of, simply due to the simplicity of the plot-line, I still found this book quite fun to read, while I am personally a sci-fi fan, but I have still had a bit of a fascination with fantasy, so this book did still appeal to me. I think that this book is probably the best one so far, mainly because while the other books have put the pieces on the table, this book has made all those pieces link up and form one larger picture.

This sense of the mystery being solved gives me a certain satisfaction, and has made this a very engaging book. At long last, all 4 of the mystical beasts have been brought together, and now this makes me anxious to read the final book and discover the series' conclusion for myself, as while the first book was quite predictable, each book has managed to surprise me more and more, which has left me with no clue as to what will happen in the final book; one last mystery for me to discover the solution to!

The story itself was pretty well put-together, there were no detectable plot-holes or anomalies in the plot, everything fit together well enough and it just felt, right. The characters themselves were also well-imagined, they behaved like real people, and in some instances I actually felt a bit like they did, so not only did I read the story, I also felt it, if you know what I mean.

The price is reasonable, it falls within what I consider to be a fair range, outside of which any price would not match the value of the book. While I am looking forward to the next book, I am still very happy with this one, and I would love to read it again when I have the chance, as it was not astoundingly boring like some books I've read in the past and would NOT like to read again in the future. Overall, I think that this book was the best out of all 4 so far, and I am very intrigued as to what events will unfold in the next book!

I have been hooked since the very first book and have really enjoyed how consistent the story is and how the twists are starting to be explained. At first it is like trying to untangle a mess but slowly it is making sense. I know we are near the end of the quest, it has been great to see how the characters have grown in abilities but also matured and learnt to deal with some strange events.

I thought the illustrations were well done and helped tell the story. I will be doing a family reading night and I am really confident my boys will love the story, just waiting for the last book as I know they want to know what happens next almost as soon as I finish reading the book. I am looking forward to the next book as I want to know how it ends, I feel there is going to be a huge twist in the plot but not sure how it will end.

I would recommend the books to any adventure loving child who knows how go use their imaginations and who aren't afraid to think outside the box and problem solve. The author is great at delivering the plots in such a way that you know something big is going to happen but you have no idea what.
