If it had not been for KIWIreviews I might not of finished the book. It started off so slow and had such an immature feeling to it I felt like I was reading a childs book. If I had gotten out from the library or brought myself I would of bi-passed the whole thing. I am so thankful that I was forced to read the entirety as I loved this book and am dying for the second book to come out - unfortunately, doing some quick research book 2 and book 3 do not have titles yet and book 2 is not being released till 2016.
This is the sort of book you could imagine being made into a movie. Think Twilight / Hunger Games it has that feeling. Actually to begin with I was unsure where the story was heading and as she only had dealings with the brothers during the night I thought they could be vampires. But no they were just a part of the mafia.
It is predictable in areas but yet it still has a lot of surprises. It was so obvious who her father had killed, it was obvious the reason they were in town and it is obvious Jack is not the good guy he is pertraying. I am a sucker for romance and I loved the Romeo and Juliet angle. The relationships between the brothers and especially Lucas personality and his hate relationship with Sophie. Again rather obvious it was an act.
This series is going to be fantastic if Sophie will get off her moral high horse. It is silly but then again you need to have some added drama or everything would be rosey and Nic would not have the fight on his hand. I am guessing a lot has to do with her age. But basically this is a book which everyone can get something out of. Mafia, Romance, Death, Forbidden Love - it has it all. The writing is easy to understand and it matures as it goes along. Bring on 2016!!
