My children and I haven't watched a lot of Teletubbies in the past as I have always thought it a bit mind numbing and not really conducive to articulate speech. I can't say sitting through seven episodes of Number Fun did a lot to change my view!
I am however not the target audience so I did allow my children to watch all seven episodes with me. Whilst I thought I may go into some sort of lack of mental stimulus coma my children absolutely loved this DVD. To be fair it probably has helped my Miss Four with her numbers as each episode is repetitive with each clip showing "humans" being repeated twice to reinforce each number. The repetition was probably something the kids liked the most as after the first episode they knew exactly what to expect so would be shouting out what was going to happen next. I had expected Miss Eight to get bored very quickly but rather worryingly she also was quite taken with the whole concept of the Teletubbies and watched the entire DVD!
I was a bit flummoxed as to why the episodes only went to seven? It seemed a weird number to go to as in why not five or ten? Aside from that if you can stomach the Teletubbies and are happy with this being the educational source of entertainment for your children then this is about as good as it gets in terms of having children rolling around laughing and learning nursery rhymes and numbers.
I liked the inclusion of nursery rhymes and how they were acted out as this was later repeated by my children who hadn't in the past realised perhaps that some nursery rhymes are stories i.e. Jack and Jill. I also liked the quality of the Teletubbies set and the way that each episode followed the same story line so children knew what was coming next. My girls absolutely loved the flowers and the rabbits and of course the Teletubbies. So although I am still not a fan I can rather begrudgingly say that this DVD was highly entertaining to my children and also had educational benefits in a very non threatening and "soft" safe for all ages to watch way.
I won't say I rate this 10/10 but the target audience of children watching this DVD did so I would have to recommend this as a great educational way to keep your child amused.
