The singing mermaid is tempted away from her home at Silversands to join the circus. The audiences love her but the poor mermaid, kept in a tank by the wicked circus owner Sam Sly, soon longs to return to the freedom of the sea. Will she ever escape?
With glitter throughout, this is a beautiful, lyrical new picture book from the creators of the bestselling WHAT THE LADYBIRD HEARD.

I don't know why, but, whenever you read a book with glitter in it you just know it is that more special and it is going to contain some magic. This books brings a different kind of special the pictures are just devine and even the crabs done with pink glitter just make them sparkle and seem friendly.
The story is about a beautiful mermaid who loves to sing and a nasty circus owner tricks her into coming with him and makes her perform around the country. Locking her up at night so she can not escape. A plan is hatched which gets her back to Silversands where she can happily sing to all of the sea creatures and to special boys and girls.
The pictures alone are worth reading this book. My girls oooo'd and arrrrrr'd as I turn the pages to reveal my spectacular glitter. The mermaid is so pretty with green seaweed thru her hair and a necklace around her neck. The colours are so vibrant and it comes to life with that added sparkle. The story is told in rhyming words so is great for children learning how to read and paragraphs are only made up of four lines.
A true delight that the whole family can enjoy. Made even that much specialer with the glitter in places you would not expect. Even the Cockles and Mussels look amazing. Really is a lovely book.
