I LOVE the Ormond Red Ruby and had been sticking with it for a while, though I saw this each time I grabbed the Red Ruby off the shelf, so I finally took a chance, spent the couple of extra dollars and grabbed a bottle of this off the shelf. The bottle is your nice, standard wine glass bottle color and the logo and label design is simple yet effective. The description on the back is nice and simple while it also lets you know how many standard drinks are in the bottle and suggests you search out cheers.org.nz.
Given how hot it has been lately I decided I would try this chilled and after letting it cool down I poured myself half a glass as a night cap before bed. Giving this a try I found it to be disgusting and really didn't want to finish the drink, it tasted like someone had mixed sprite, wine and a pinch of baking powder, so not a great taste at all. I pulled the bottle out of the fridge the next morning and let it warm up to room temperature before trying it again. For me there was still a tiny hint of bubbly baking powder to it but it was fruity, smooth and far more drinkable than cold.
This was much nicer warm that cold and whilst I would drink it if given to me, I won't be buying it again in the future.
