Heartside Bay #9 - Playing the Game product reviews

Love, life and everything in between. Midnight kisses and summer crushes, first dates and heartbreak - there's never a dull moment in Heartside Bay. This is the next not-to-be-missed instalment in the lives of Lila, Polly, Eve and Rhi.

Lila has no idea what she wants to do with her future.

The one thing she is certain about is her boyfriend Josh. He's caring and dependable and she loves him. Their relationship has been perfect.

So why does she suddenly want to run??

My daughter has loved this series so far and I must admit I have enjoyed the series myself. There is something about the drama and intensity of teen love and life that makes a good read, and these books are certainly full of it. It has been a while since I last visited Heartside Bay and I have skipped out the last book summer of secrets which I will have to pick up at some stage but with these books you can skip back in without feeling you have missed too much.

I have enjoyed the books that follow the character of Lila the most, it was the first book following Lila's first arrival in the Bay that got me hooked on the series in the first place so was great going back and finding out just how much Lila has grown and changed. Yet as with most teens she still has so much to learn and decide before taking that step into adulthood. Lila is still unsure what she wants to do with her life which is quite common I think for a lot of girls that would be reading this so a subject they could easily identify with.

All of Lila's friends have their plans mapped out they know what they want to do but Lila is still so undecided but one thing she does know is she wants to be herself she wants people to remember her as being Lila not Josh's girlfriend or Polly's friend she wants to be her. I think again this is something a lot of teen girls can identify with as they go through that awkward teenage stage and try to put their stamp on the world. Lila learns so much about who she is what means the most to her and I think this is an important step young girls need to take.

I thought this was a great installment in the lives of Heartside Bay and I will still continue to read the series as I can.

This book blew me away. It is so pivital for every teenager around the world. What are you going to do with your life once school finishes?? So few people have there life mapped out and now exactly what direction they are going to go in. Well everyone except for Josh, Eve, Polly, Rhi, Brody and Ollie. Lila has absolutely no idea where her life is going she just knows one thing she is not going to be known for just by who she is dating.

I really enjoyed this book Cathy Cole has a fantastic way of writing and it is so captivating. I was completely drawn into this book and did not want it to end. I loved Lila trying to figure out her future as completly understood where she was coming from. I especially loved the break up and then the make up of Josh and Lila they are such a cute couple.

It is a fast paced book with drama intwined into the pages. So much is happening but it is easy to keep up. The characters are all very relatable and realistic. It deals with very real topics which every teenager can relate to. It also has teen love which I am just lapping up. It is a fantastic series that I think everyone will enjoy. It got a bit boring for a while but the last couple of books have been riverting and I am really enjoying them.
