Product reviews...
Having two artist children who love to draw and colour anything and everything I was very excited to receive this. Being the Turtles made it even better. When we received first thing in the morning both girls could not wait to open and have a look at there future activities. We received just before school so thought I would quickly open and let them view but that was easier said than done. Rather tricky to get inside of it so instead told my daughter she would have a treat waiting for her after school.
I had to use scissors and delicately slice down the rim and then expand on the little hole as was worried would go right thru the book. I got a bit of a surprise when opening it found out wasn't a colouring book at all instead singular pages, which to be honest rather upset me. I have so many single pages pictures that the girls draw on that I was hoping it would be a colouring book where the pages stay put.
If I had known beforehand that this is what it was probably would not of opted for it. It also has 75 stickers which in theory is great except there is no place allocated for them so in the end they got pretty much used up in the first two pages before I took them away. The pictures themselves are fantastic, exactly like the cartoon, but they are back to back which has caused a few dramas. My daughter done awesome on one side and then realised Mickey was on the back and she wanted that as well except the felt had kinda gone thru to the other side.
I think this would be better suited to maybe one child who shared with their mates after a play date. In my situation not so much as now I have turtles all over the place. I would have preferred it to be a colouring book with maybe that option of ripping them out when finished. The stickers would be ideal for school books or sticking to a head board, seems a bit of a waste to stick on these pages unless you were planning to keep them for a while.
Very excited to receive these to review and will have some very happy boys at my daycare when I take these in. To start with I was super frustrated with the plastic wrapping it came in. Great that it was fully covered and protected but it was so hard to get open. A pair of scissors, one kitchen knife and some very sharp finger nails and 10 minutes later I finally managed to get it open. Was ready to give up.
Finally got it opened and expected it to be a book, but it wasn't and all the pages fell out over my lap and onto the floor. Great idea having single pages so no need to rip out of a book etc, but perhaps a warning on the front saying something like 48 single leaf pages or something similar. The pictures have nice bold outlines which are fantastic for kids when it comes to colouring. The bolder it is the easier it is for them to see where to stay in the lines and if they accidentally go over you can't see the mistake as easy.
This pack also came with two sheets of ninja turtle stickers which are also pretty cool. Brightly coloured and an mixed lot of the different ninja turtles, their weapons and tools which is great.
All in all great concept and I can see loads of the ninja turtle fans buying this super quick. But I am still feeling dark about the frustrating plastic I had to get through to open it!
