Product reviews...
We have recently been introduced to colour wonder packs thanks to KIWIreviews selecting us to review the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles colour wonder mini pages. Man these are so cool. I have to admit that I honestly did not expect to much from them, and my kids being to eager to rip open the pack, did not read it and so were a bit confused initially by the pens all having clear nibs when they thought they would be coloured like normal felt pens lol
These have to be one of the greatest colouring inventions ever invented haha The pens do not work on anything other than the colour wonder pages. You know what that means right? No more ink drawings on hands, faces ,arms, or legs! No worries about ink drawings on the walls, carpet, the table, or the furniture. Which also means...no ink drawings over the car upholstery either! WOW as a parent that right there is a selling point, and absolutely awesome!
So the pens only work on the colour wonder pages, so you choose your pen and you colour over the picture, and the colour magically begins to appear on the page...it really is just like magic. This had to be my daughters favourite thing, watching the colour progress from nothing, to light green (or whatever colour she was using at the time), to dark green etc. She was simply blown away and super impressed by that. And I have to admit, so was I. I happily sat and coloured in two of the colour pages, before my daughter growled and said I wasn't being fair, and took it off me. Ooooppsss!!
The drawings are also very well drawn, the pages are mini pages, so perfect for little hands, and the pens are really comfortable to hold also. I personally can not fault this product at all. I think it is a wonderful product, perfect as a treat. Great for long trips! Ideal as a birthday gift for a friend! Even the perfect addition to the Xmas stocking, to get you an extra half hours sleep in hehe Definitely top marks from my family for this.
WOW we have used colour wonder before but this caught my eye as its such a boy looking one that I thought my 4 year old son would really enjoy. It turned up and pulled it out of the box and before I could even have a look he was trying to take it off me saying it was his turtles, he chased me around the whole house trying to get them. In the end we opened it.
I love how its small and would be awesome for car travels, the packaging is easy to open and really shows what is in there. We pulled out a mini poster book and 3 pens nice and simple. What I love about this is the pens don't leave marks on ANYTHING which means in the car and they drop a pen its not going to mark the seats in the car, their clothes or anything, and yes I did test this out on my table, carpet, clothes and skin. however my son wasnt impressed he couldn't draw on his hands like normal.
Now for some reason I thought the pens could only be used with the book it came with so I thought we would test this out, and what do you know, the pens from other sets work on new sets too, so we now have lots and lot of pens and only this book to colour, would be awesome if you can buy the colour wonder books/pages on their own without the pens.
I do love this idea the one thing I found annoying and my 4 year old found fustrating was waiting for the colour to show up so we knew where we can already coloured. it didn't take long to come up but still was annoying as when you do it with normal colour pens it shows right away, guess its something you get use to after a while though. However in saying that it is great for teaching children that sometimes we have to wait for things to happen. The packet does say not for 0-3 but I reckon these would be perfect for 2 year olds aswell as there is no ink to go everywhere.
Each pen has a colour on it but when you open the lid its white, so its all magic. great product overall.
