The outback once more becomes a place of horror as another unwitting tourist becomes the prey for crazed, serial-killing pig-hunter Mick Taylor.

After finding the first Wolf Creek absolutely terrifying I have been looking forward to the sequel. Unfortunately like most sequels it misses the mark so completely its not even on the same page. Just like the first one, this claims to be based on a true story and once again it's a fabrication of porkies and the only truth is 'people go missing in the outback', whether they are murdered is another story.
I loved the first one because it was very subtle in the horror. There is an abandoned shed full of cars, table full of cameras, phones and video cameras and the rest is basically left up to your imagination. In this one you are taken into an abandoned mine and there are dead tortured bodies all over the place - it was just way over the top and lets the whole movie down.
There is no suspense in this instead you are left yelling at the screen 'what the hell are you doing' and 'why do that' and 'thats just silly'. It felt like it was a really bad slasher movie and everyone is annoying especially Mick's laugh which was endearing in the first one as he didn't do often but this one is every five seconds you hear that ridiculous laugh. Also the house in the middle of nowhere with the two very weird occupants its just so unnecessary, no normal person would act like these ummmm people, I guess you would say.
It starts with German back packers and for the first 15 - 20 minutes you are left reading subtitles. So I was really happy when Mick finally showed up and the real movie could start. Then the Pom swoops in, but he just ends up making really silly choices and its just dumb. Not a lot of good things I can say about the movie except learnt that 'the first rule of the outback is never stop'.
The worst scene is the Kangaroos. It was really unnecessary and made me feel ill - hate cruelty to animals of any kind and this was just grotesque!!!! I was so tempted to turn this off a couple of times because really for the 100minutes I could of been watching the paint dry. Another thing is why when telling you what happened to the 'hero' do they write it so small that even sitting in front of the TV still have difficulty reading it.
